I feel like my cabin is missing a a few details any advice on how to make it better?

Your cabin looks great for you being new! Here is some constructive criticism though:
Please don’t use WoodPlank for logs, chairs or pieces of wood that should be continuous straight sections.
Think of how many real world situations you see that use wood. Almost all use 1 piece of wood with the grain running the long direction of the board.
Also the ‘chinking’ between the logs in a real cabin isn’t made of wood. A sealant is used so there shouldn’t be wood grain visible there.
Cabins made of logs almost always have the logs notched and stepped at either end where they overlap each other and stick out. This is to lock the logs together.
You could also vary the size of the logs slightly so they appear more realistic.
I’d recommend going online to see images of real cabins, and take notice of the small details.

Thanks for the reply! I’m modeling this after the cabin from Kiki’s delivery service and wood planks have the most depth and texture while just wood looks plain and flat. The rest of the advice will help me! 
although the chinking is kind of hard…

I’d try just slightly changing the colour of the logs as well. Not much, just enough to be visible.
You could try putting a cut wood decal on the ends of the log for the rings.

Also you could just use a thin block Part where the 2 logs meet as your chinking. Maybe a really dark brown, and try a few different Materials to see if that looks better.

First of all, great build 
The lightning, the detailing, the environment : fact is that it all just looks damn great.
And yet you are asking for tips! How humble! So here’s my little addition to the idea box : All your planks and logs are straight and of the same color. If you could rotate some of them by 1° to 3°, maybe have one or two going up to 6° it would look a little bit more realistic. Some for the colour, with minor color changes from one log/plank to another, it will add this feeling of realism.
