Cage Mesh UVs are "Modified" even when copied from unmodified UVs

I keep getting this error: “Modified UV map”

Im not sure how I am modifying the uv. Im making a layered shirt that overlaps the hands, like an oversized sweater. I am inflating the hands to cover the end of the sleeve.

This has been achieved before, as shown in this example I got from a marketplace item:

I tested before modeling the hands and the UVs are not modified right before I inflate the hand. The head is masked in sculpt mode. And even after I sculpt the hand, I have tried transfering the UV from the unchanged inner cage. Despite all that, this error persists! Why is this happening??
