Call of Chivalry Info

Call of Chivalry Info Board

ANNOUNCEMENT: We will be experimenting with a new hit detection method next update. It will still not fix your bad internet. However, it may improve hit reg overall.

UPDATE: After researching the memory leak in our game, it’s actually a prevalent issue that has happened to a lot of other developers. I applied a patch for version 2.9.4 of the game, but it is ultimately an engine bug that ROBLOX has yet to patch out since 2022.

COMBAT FAQS
*Note: if this is not enough, then see tutorials on Chivalry II & Mordhau combat mechanics.

Q: Is there an objective best class in the game?
A: The classes are thoroughly tested to ensure that they’re all (hopefully) equally balanced, in short: no.

Q: What key do I press to use my abilities/are there abilities in the game?
A: Press the ‘E’ key to use your abilities, abilities include roll for infantry, knock back bash for halberdiers, damage reduction for knights, and a spike trap for archers.

Q: What is comboing?
A: It’s when you queue up your next attack during your current attack. Just press the key for the attack type you want and it will activate immediately after your current attack is finished. This bypasses any input delay and is to replicate Chivalry’s combo mechanic. You can cancel any attack during windup by pressing block button, or feint button.

Q: How do I block attacks in this game?
A: Hold or tap right click to block attacks. It will block any attacks in front of you, but not behind you. You generally want to block then attack right after. This is the general combat flow, but you can gamble another attack after your attack is blocked by the opponent but you might die more easily in the process.

Q: What is ‘riposte/hyperarnor’?
A: After blocking an enemy attack, you yourself should attack right away to get a riposte attack, which makes your attack speed faster and allows your attack to be able to pass through multiple blocks. Hyperarmor is when you block multiple attacks consecutively and then attack right after, it will give you an aura and a golden shield icon if you did it successfully. It makes your next attack uninterruptable and will pass through any blocks as well.

Q: Whats ‘active parry/blocking’?
A: You gain a short passive block window (.4 sec) after each successful parry/block you make, leading to easier survivability during 1vX’s. If there are two people about to hit you simultaneously, block the first one and the second one will be blocked, even if you committed your next attack right after. Use it to you advantage and gain hyperarmor with consecutive parry/blocks, which makes your next attack after uninterruptable.

Q: What’s ‘chambering/countering’?
A: Chambering/countering is when you match the opponents swing right before it hits you, cancelling out their attack and replacing it with your own. You can do both Chivalry II’s counter or MORDHAU’s chamber. They do the same thing in-game, the superior option stamina wise during fights, and negate any knockback. Active parry/blocking works when you do this as well.

Q: My mouse sensitivity is different during attacks?
A: You can configure mouse sensitivity during attacks in our in-game settings “Attack Mouse Sensitivity.” This is to replicate Chivalry and MORDHAU’s lower sensitivity during swings.

Q: How to attack and block in VR?
A: To attack in VR you swing your real arm fast enough, to block you rotate your sword to point down toward the ground. You will hear a metal sound when holding block is activated.

GAME FAQS
Q: Why are the hitboxes so annoying?
A: The hitboxes themselves aren’t the issue; it’s a roblox server problem or its your internet. Join a fresh server near your region for the best experience.

Q: My FPS is too low. How do I improve it?
A: Due to all the game models, the game can be laggy to lower-end devices. Navigate to our “Low Quality” section in our in-game settings if you’re FPS is still low. In addition, make ragdoll despawn lower (0-5), and you can also disable particles.

Q: Are items from the shop only cosmetic?
A: Yes, items bought in the shop have no effect on stats whatsoever, the only exception being that certain secondary weapons have higher or lower stats depending on their shape.

Q: How do you get new weapons and armor?
A: You can buy cosmetics from the shop. You can equip 4 types of armor pieces (Helm, Torso, Arms, Legs), a primary weapon (depending on each class), and a secondary weapon (can be used by all classes). You can apply different colors, materials, and patterns on any armor piece and weapon you like (also bought in the shop).

Q: How do you equip armor/weapon, apply paints/materials/patterns?
A: You navigate to the ‘player’ button in the inn or the customize button in class select area. There are four ‘loadouts’ available, that being Inn loadout, then the four classes available. Select the one you want to customize. Then you can equip helms/torso/arms/leg armors in ‘Armor’ tab, weapons in ‘Weapon’ tab, and appliances in ‘Paint’ tab. You can also equip titles which you can unlock, and also save any outfits you like for each loadout. To apply paints/materials/patterns, you click the one you want and hit the ‘Apply’ button that is the same button as the armor’s ‘Equip’ button. When you press that, now you can click the armor/weapon you want to apply it on (in any of the 4 slots available). You can also paint a pattern to get a different color, and resize a pattern to make it bigger or smaller on the armor/weapon (see video attached)
