Can give anyone feedback about my game(i have no idea if it is a good game)

can someone say some bad things about my game?, i want to know all bugs and other bad stuff

Hey there,

Now in no way am I a GUI dev, but at first glance, I joined and I was confused.


A few suggestions:

  • Make the buttons like tutorial mode more apparent that they’re buttons.
  • The temperature tab confused me. Try putting where it says hot or cold inside of the temperature frame.
  • When I found one of the balls, a random GUI appeared and it wouldn’t get off my screen.
  • Make an inventory button, so the one apple at the bottom isn’t just there taking up room.
  • Also, consider adding transparency to the whole UI.
  • Things like the temperature gui doesn’t accurately display the temperature.

  • The hot and cold labels on the temperature ui are buttons, which they should be labels if you want them to display something.
  • Personally, the hints to find the balls in the game are too expensive. Lower it down to like 5-15 robux.

  • Be consistent with your capitalization of words.
  • The, “You really need to eat now” UI is done really well. Good job.
  • Make it more obvious what tutorial mode does. I though it didn’t did anything until I harvested five apples.

Hey, I do my best work in Game Design and here’s what I think:

Graphical User Interface (GUI)

  • Pretty much I have the same opinion as what @LordSTking07 mentioned, the GUI is really confusing
  • Reasons why: The use of similar colours and it all being cramped in one spot at the bottom makes this confusing. If Food, Oxygen, Temp & Health are all green, this can get confusing when you’re looking for a specific level.
  • When they are cramped at the bottom this has the same effect - confusing to correlate the GUI title and bar to each other.

Overall Game Design

  • Try something more intriguing than ‘Balls’, a more eye-catching name could be ‘Orbs’ or maybe ‘Gems’, a name like that.
  • It could use some sound effects and music, otherwise it feels pretty empty.
  • Oxygen runs out too quickly.
  • Spread those models about, them being duplicated with no rotation is too repetitive.
  • Improve the tutorial, I can’t seem to collect fish and I’m not sure what apples do or
    where to put them, what money is for, and I’m not understanding the premise of the game.
  • A few bugs with interface here and there, you should playtest your games for quality assurance every time you add something to maximise quality (this sounds time consuming but is completely worth it)

Positives!

  • I do admire your ability to script, for example creating AI to stop the fish from swimming out of the water and keeping the slime to stay in one area. I also like the flying animation for the portal, it is pretty cool.
  • The terrain is looking pretty good, it’s not too plain or messy; this definitely adds to the atmosphere.

I can see you are invested in making this game work well, which is a crucial quality to have. Nice work so far :+1: :smiley:

Thanks for the feedback :grinning: im going to improve this now:

  1. i can change the name of the “balls” that is easy
  2. im gonna add sound later
  3. oxygen runs out really fast but you can buy a snorkel that gives you 3x more oxygen for coins(in game currency)
  4. im also improving the GrapicalUserInterface im gonna do it first
  5. i know i really need a better tutotial mode im gonna do it after improving the UI

what do you guys think about this?, the health and the oxygen are diseperaing when it is’nt needed and i need to fix the food neede UI but first i need to sleep

Now i also added a way better tutorial that appears for new players and a /Reset All Data chat command to reset everything and get the tutorial again
