what do you mean? like a system that works like instagram or like a feed of posts from instagram showing in your game?

If I understood right, they are asking if they could put their Instagram in their game, like a link or their @ on Instagram.

well i couldnt find anywhere that says you cant. they let you directly link your facebook for example which owns instagram so i would think its allowed

In the Roblox Community Standards you can see the exception list.

Instagram is not on the list of Social Links that Roblox allows for experiences - see https://en.help.roblox.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000910966-Social-Media-Links-for-Experiences.

That list is:

  • Discord
  • Youtube
  • Twitter
  • Twitch
  • Facebook
  • Roblox Group

If you put a social link that’s not on that list in your experience, you risk having moderation action taken against the experience or your account.

This is a great question, but I believe this would be deemed as off-platform linking, which can be a violation of Roblox’s Terms of Use and Roblox’s Community Standards.

Furthermore, the only social media linking allowed, which I could currently find, is by using the “Social Media Links for Experiences” feature.

I’d also recommend you contact Roblox Support directly and issue your concern with them. I am more than certain they will be able to provide an answer for you.

ya but it wouldnt be a link. just a username and the word instagram isnt banned in the chat but the word discord is

If you’re directing people to an Instagram page, that’s directing users off-platform. The only circumstances where that’s allowed are laid out in the “Directing Users Off-Platform” policy quoted by @7valkio above. Note that the policy specifies that “partial links” are prohibited. Instagram tags, Youtube channel names, and other social media identifiers are a way to get to an off-platform page and would likely be considered “partial links” - the same as telling someone to go to “you tube (dot) com” to get around a censor.

Personally, I don’t think Facebook has a place on the permitted-socials list, and Instagram would make more sense there, but Roblox rules are what applies here.

1.) First Roblox use Instagram himself - Why it is forbidden ?

2.) If i use the word ‘insta’ in my studio model name or 3D asset name they ban/warn my account?
Why? Its just a word and no link etc.
@Developers : Can you fix that in the Moderation Tool !
