Can I upload recoloured UGC of Item that already exists?

Hello everyone,

My question is genuine. Lately, I’ve seen a lot of recolors of Beautiful Hair for Beautiful People, the same mesh but with different textures. I’m wondering if I can do the same with the Kuddle E. Koala hat. I don’t want to change the shape of the hat, because it’s iconic, and I need it to stay original, I just want to alter the texture.

I need this for my swordfighting name clan. Back then, name clans would wear either the Kuddle E. Koala or Panda hat, but now they’re limited, and there are no cheap alternatives

My main concern is whether Roblox moderation will allow it. Would they approve the hat, or would they delete it and punish me for uploading it?

You can’t legally upload a recolor of the Kuddle E. Koala hat unless you own the mesh or have permission. Roblox’s rules prohibit reusing existing assets, even with new textures. Doing so risks rejection, takedown, or account penalties.

Your best option is to create an original hat that’s inspired by it but uses a new mesh and texture.

But people reupload stuff all the time Roblox doesn’t seem to care.
