Yes, you’re completely allowed to use assets from the Roblox catalog in your game.
It’s not against Roblox Terms of Service, Community Guidelines or any other type of policy related to Roblox. You’re completely free to use them in your game, althrough you don’t affect DMCA policy’s of Roblox, that means, don’t say that they’re yours or use stolen models, scripts, assets, using an asset is just taking the ID of the clothing, you’re completely free to use it because the clothe is on public sale, it’s public to buy, I suggest you not using clothing that isn’t in sale.
I have… zero clue why people are saying yes you can. No you can’t use them.
@infiniteRaymond Bad advice. Wearing things you bought and using them in a game for development purposes are two completely different things. Selling an item for wear =/= giving you a license to use it for any other purposes.
@vayouls Also bad advice. Terms of Use and Community Guidelines are very clear about prohibiting use of content you don’t have grounds to access. Buying a clothing item for your avatar doesn’t implicitly permit you to use it in your game. It being on sale doesn’t mean you can use it either. Would you buy a piece of candy (such as Coffee Crisp), repackage it, rebrand it and then sell it as your own creation? That’s a lawsuit waiting for you. If you wouldn’t do it in real life, don’t do it on Roblox.
I am pretty sure it is perfectly fine because, I feel like there would have been a setting where people can’t copy the id and use them in game, plus it is really hard to get into contact with somebody who made a certain item of clothing.
@worldwarbattle What has the id being public got to do with that? An id is an id, whether it can be copied or not is irrelevant to permissive use of an item. Additionally, not being able to contact the creator is not an excuse for assuming they grant permission and then using their content.
Kinda confusing why they make it so easy to use others clothing without being given access, you can literally copy others id’s and implement them in seconds into your game, I’ve seen literally hundreds of games use paid clothing that wasn’t theirs with no permission and nothing is done about it so I’m still not really sure on the rule myself even though I guess Roblox has this as a rule it is not enforced.
