Can I use UGC assets on my game?

I was going to use some UGC assets in my game such as swords, hats, armors but I’m unsure if I am allowed to do so. Is it TOS friendly?

Unlike free models that are distributed freely, you technically have to ask the UGC creator if using it within your game is okay. Most creators are fine with it, but you still have to get permission in case one of them doesn’t want you to use it in your game. They are within their rights to refuse and not allow you to use it (or they may want compensation or a “buy” button within your game so they get some sales).

Any source or proof of ROBLOX not allowing developers to use public UGC assets? Because I’ve seen a lot of games use UGC assets in their games. Thanks

It’s in the ToS + there are some other threads on here asking similar questions.

“For any UGC that Creator has ever created or will create and makes available through the Services (…) Creator retains all copyrights that Creator may hold in the UGC (…) Creator may be asked if Creator would like to share such UGC with other Users. Creator is not required to share Creator’s UGC, but if Creator does agree to grant this right then other Users may use Creator’s UGC to create their own Experiences and other UGC on the Service without any obligation to Creator.”
