I am currently making a CSGO/CS2 game on Roblox. I am making it very similar to CSGO, using their weapon/case images, with the same names/skins. I know a lot of games use assets from games outside of roblox, but I haven’t seen one thats using as much as I will be.
I know you arent allowed to use other roblox game’s assets, and your account or your game can get deleted. I also remember a pokimon brick bronze game getting banned years ago for obvious reasons. For my game, I obviously wont name it CSGO/CS2. But im not sure if using their images/skin names is allowed.
It depends on the license that the artists give. Each types of licenses have its own rules. If it’s public domain, you can use it. If it’s a creative commons, it’s split into two: attribution (BY, give them credit) and non-commercial (NC, you can use it but now your game cannot be monetized). If it’s a royalty-free license, you must pay a one-time fee to use it without ongoing royalty but there may still be some restrictions put by the artists. You should ask the original artists of the work about the license and the rules of using their work.
PS: Im not a lawyer so take everything I say with a grain of salt.
So it depends what kind of license the owners of the assets have for that asset.
The main reason games get taken down on all platforms for having other games assets is well, legal reasons.
If the owner of the assets have the right to DMCA and or sue you, they might in fact do it.
Which could result in your game getting banned until you remove the stuff, up to you getting terminated (idk what the punishments roblox gives out).
I believe that there is someway to see what stuff someone has copyrighted but Im not exactly sure.
TLDR: It is a possibility that you get banned.
