If I make a game with similar features to a certain game outside of Roblox, could it get taken down? I’m using my own name, characters, models, textures, sounds and scripts, could it get taken down by any chance?

If it has the logo of the game, name or the game, map, exact mechanics, then it will get taken down
But if everything is different, then no

I’m not using any assets at all, just their idea. But, their game has features that Roblox games already has like fishing, crafting, and that kind of stuff.

On second thought, I have heard of someone who made a similair game, and their game got taken down, but only roblox gets sued I guess

Alright, there’s somthing called DMCA claim. If the copyright holder of the game you’re taking inspiration from takes legal action with enough evidence that it’s the same mechanics as your game the game will be taken down.
Conclusion: Just build the game differently, and change the mechanism a bit. And you’ll be fine.

The game has features that are commonly found in other games, even in games that already exist in Roblox, customizing your house, fishing, crafting, eating, and that kind of stuff, I don’t really see why it could be taken down, but I’ll keep an eye on that, thanks.

If your base game consists of customizing your house, fishing, crafting, eating you should be pretty fine as long as you dont steal artwork, assets or other stuff. Most of the DMCA Claims are issued due to problems with “direct” copies of the game. This mostly happens when someone copies a franchise or a iconic character and uses it on roblox. Especiall if the game is monetized. (Correct me if i’m wrong) If a similar game already exists, its very unlikely it will get taken down.

If Roblox receives a take-down request, they’ll shut down the game. Then you need to show why you’re not imposing on someone else’s IP.
You should be fine making “survival game with mining and crafting”, but I probably wouldn’t make “CraftMine”

What happens if, for some reason it gets taken down, and by the time it’s taken down I already made money from it, what would happen to me? Would it just get taken down?

Most likely nothing, at most you’ll just get a cease-and-desist. But in theory you’d be violating IP. That could lead to court, and then to paying back all the damages the rightful owner suffered, or gain they missed out from.
