hey, i just made a sword for my game and it looks similiar to a minecraft sword. (i think) im not sure if my game can get taken down by mojang for this texture but can u guys let me know what u think about this? thanks!

I doubt that there is even a 5% chance it would get taken down. Loads of games on Roblox have the exact same texture as the Minecraft sword and are still up. Yours has some variety and is different so they can’t get you for that.
Yeah, I agree. I am not a lawyer, and I don’t know deeply about Copyright Law, but I think your sword will be fine.
As far as I am aware, art styles cannot be copyrighted. Unless you’re making a blatant copy of the Minecraft sword(which you are clearly not) it is impossible for it to be taken down for copyright due to a lack of ability to prove you were plagerizing their work.
Second, the art style Minecraft uses is a grid pattern(10x10 I believe) and the textures are built off of that pattern. I would be incredibly surprised if a copyright claim was successful against any person when the plaintiff is using such a basic art style that reasonably has very limited outlet. Anyone using pixelated art could be subject to those claims otherwise, and I have not found any successful cases in my, albeit brief, research.
Finally, even if this were a direct copy of the Minecraft sword, I am confident you’d be able to avoid a copyright strike unless ROBLOX decided to pre-empt a case. Because the textures of Minecraft are so iconic, any pixelated art form is a win for the game, as many people connect that form of art to that franchise. It’s a subconscious form of free advertising.
