My friend wants to know if they are at risk of termination after creating a new account after having their previous account terminated. They used to do something that got them terminated but they made a new account to still play. They don’t do the TOS breaking action anymore, but they are afraid their past offences can still affect their new account. Is this the case or does it depend on what the offence is? They asked Support about this, but they did not provide a satisfying answer, and they can’t use Forum so that’s why I am asking for them.
As far as i am aware, if you have the same account information of a previously terminated account, it could affect the new account.
It depends on the type of ban though.
Some bans may explicitly state that you are not allowed to create new accounts (out of all the false terms I’ve had over the years, the only time I’ve seen this is when I got a DMCA strike against an archived item)
However, if they don’t explicitly state as such, you are otherwise free to make as many accounts as you like, and presumably do as you please on them.
Some temp(?) bans (potentially all? Unsure) may hand out terminations to alt accounts being used while the main account is banned. I believe this is only tracked by IP, but I do know it’s always an automatic moderation (you see many people complaining that they got terminated because their family/friend/classmate was temp banned - true or not this is 100% a genuine situation that can happen)
I believe that if you have multiple accounts handled by one email at the time of the ban, certain bans may transfer across accounts (things like this are done on other platforms too) however I can’t find any proof of this, I just remember hearing it once in the past so it’s also basically just hearsay and may not be true.
TL;DR unless you’re told specifically that you aren’t allowed to join Roblox again, you can probably do whatever you like.
