I started using Blender for practically anything. When you upload a 3d object into studio it always tells you the amount of polygons it has and won’t let you import them if they got more than 10k.
But once they’re in game is there any way for you to check the poly count? (Except importing the again).
I want to check the polygon count on objects that another developer made in a game…So I can’t just check the poly count in blender or anything…because it’s not my own model…I don’t have it on my pc.
i donot really think that you can do that in roblox studio
but you can view the polygons by going to view->WireFrameRendering
this isnot accurate and may be wrong
another thing that shows triangles in the game but is weird and i donot understand at all
click - (ctrl + shift + f2) and then the draw things
Unless you enable wireframe and count them from there, I’m not aware of any in-Studio ways.
You should be able to export the model into Blender from studio. From there, just turn on Statistics in Blender and select the model.
I tried to do that a couple times but it’s too hard to actually see every single one. They’re not that visible. (the wireframe thing)
Roblox Studio does not have a stock way of doing this, unless (similarly to another response) you turn on wireframes and counting them up from there. Although, that being said, I’m sure there is a plugin/extension that allows you to do this which may be worth a look into.
Yeah but it’s pretty hard to count it that way
(Couldn’t you just export whatever mesh you want as a .obj and import it to Blender and then check from there?)
Hmm well you can’t really edit them in blender because they’re basically just the outer layer of it. So I kinda feel like that wouldn’t help much as well. All the times I reimported a model into blender (a model from Roblox that I have previously made in blender) it wasn’t the full thing but just the outer part. So basically if you change it in any way you can suddenly look through the entire model.
Ok but why would you try to change it? You just need to see how many vertices it has right?
True. I didn’t think of that. Since I could never really use that feature because it doesn’t let me change anything I didn’t really see this as an option. I’ll give it a try
