Hello, I edited on an uncopylocked place, and I didn’t save the file, or publish it. In that uncopylocked game, there was random numbers for the title for “Workspace”, “Lighting”, and more. The numbers were something like 109e103j10293 (I just typed in random numbers for this number). Can this uncopylocked game hack me or hack my games? Thank you. (Also sorry if I’m not posting this on the right category, I needed help, so I posted on this category.)
It’s seems like backdoor and the hackers can’t hack your account but they can do anything with your game till you remove these scripts/unknowns values. For ex: They can easily crash yours servers on the game/etc.
I didn’t save the game, or publish the game. Also, will the hackers able to hack my other games too?
No, they can hack only your newest game with ‘viruses’/‘backdoor’ but you can easily fix it via deleting them and detect it.
Then you should be fine, I believe the only way your games could be affected would be if you installed a dodgy plugin, or including a dodgy model/module in your game.
Opening a place like this, I don’t believe there is any way it will have caused you harm
If, for example, you only need a map, and the rest is not necessary, or you are afraid whether there are viruses or something like that, then I recommend simply deleting all the values, scripts if available.
I wasn’t needing the map, I just clicked “edit” for seeing the map in Roblox Studios.
Yes, I understood because I brought it to the example of how to delete and fix it. Be careful with free uncopylocked/models because mostly of them are infected.
Could the numbers be there because the creator of the uncopylocked place hacked to get the uncopylocked place?
Depends of what kind of ‘numbers’, sometimes people are using it for backdoor to take control of your game.
No, you can change the names of things to whatever you want, just highlight in studio and press F2
I can’t think why you’d really want to change the name of lighting from the default but I don’t think it’s a sign of any sort of hacking or anything bad.
Again, just to be clear, opening an uncopylocked place and then never saving it, can’t do you damage.
Including plugins or models could do - if you are doing that make sure they are the correct ones from reputable people. If in doubt then before using them look at any included scripts, if they are doing anything that looks weird, or if you aren’t sure then post them here and people can help.
Thanks, also I didn’t change the names for “Workspace”, and 'Lighting". The names of “Workspace”, and “Lighting” were already in random numbers when I clicked “edit”, and opened it on Roblox Studios.
Whoever created the game/experience to start with probably did for some reason change them. it’s a bit of a strange thing to change, but in itself it doesn’t mean anything is bad here.
I’d just always take care if copying anything into one of your games, make sure you know what it is and where it’s come from, then you should be ok.
