Can you test this on Xbox?

I have made a game and made it both mobile and Xbox compatible.
The game has been tested on PC and Mobile, but since I don’t have Xbox, can’t test on it myself.

It would be appreciated, if someone could test this game on Xbox, to see if all the controls/UI are functioning properly on a gamepad and give feedback on the responsiveness and intuitiveness of the controls.

Controls are very simple, so shouldn’t take more than 2 minutes to test.

P.S.I don’t know if you can open links on Xbox. If not, to easily find the game, you can favorite it from your PC/Mobile, and then open it easily from your favorites on Xbox.
You can always unfavorite the game after testing if you want.

I am down to test it on my Xbox later. Then I’ll give feedback!

cant seem to find it on my Xbox

It is a very new game with closed to 0 visits, so it most likely won’t appear in search.

You can favorite it in your PC or mobile, and find it in your favorites on Xbox

The favorite button

well, it works, a bit jank but works
Roblox default cars have their jank, some of the ui is outside of screen space (do note i have my scale set properly)

But it works

Thanks for taking the time!

Could you explain this in details, so I can fix it? Which UI, the timer or the cars UI, and what part and how much of it is off screen?

top what i assume to be timer, Xbox i believe is 720p, unless they upped it for the Series, but im on S, so will need to do the resolution change option in Studio

I see, thank You, will fix it.

The xbox ones are 1080p. (30 letters minimum)

The time is the only UI that is positioned combining Scale and offset. It’s Y is offset -36 pixels, which works for PC and Mobile, because Top Bar on PC and Mobile is 36 pixels.

I assume making it IgnoreGuiInset, and removing the offset should remove the off screen issue, no matter the resolution

Like already said, the gui timer is cut off.

About the game in general:
The car occasionally clips into the ball when kicking it, sometimes the goal. When a new round starts, I sometimes get kicked out of my car and need to walk to it again. About the ui, honestly I’m not a big fan of it. It seems rushed and not not reaching its full potential. Also I would add sounds for the cars.

So in conclusion, I’d provide new players a better tutorial instead of just signs with controls on them, and improve the gui and maps. The maps seem a bit plain and you can’t do car stunts or jump, just follow the ball and hope to cath up.
I believe that the game has lots of potential, but still needs to improve a lot.

I still had a bit of fun once I figured all the controls!

Thanks for the feedback!

Could you give tips on how to improve the UI? I’m not great at UI design, so myself have no idea how to improve it further.

That is completely intentional. I have made complex skill based games before on Roblox, and they have failed, so this time I am making a very simple one, a game which is fun, yet allows you to relax and get into the flow state.
The game idea itself obviously is inspired by Rocket League, in which I had tons of fun at first, but then got annoyed and quit it, because of extremely high and complicated skill ceiling.
The simplicity of the game is inspired by Touch Football (on Roblox), which I also enjoyed a lot, especially because of it’s simplicity.

I pretty much intend to keep the game mechanics the way they are, but am always open to feedback and criticism, so if you have counter arguments to the above paragraph, please voice them, I very much appreciate the criticism.

If you’re developing games with console support, I’d recommend buying a wired controller for use on PC. I personally still use the Xbox 360 wired controller (which is probably cheaper now compared to other more modern controllers). I actually see a lot for only $20 on Amazon (I believe they were originally about $50 new in-store).

Had no idea they were that cheap, I thought they are 100s of dollars. Thanks for the tip.

I’d still recommend the newer generation / Xbox One controllers. The 360 ones are kinda outdated and some buttons don’t even exist on these. You can find the newer generation controllers on amazon for like 60€ (IDK what that is in $USD.

Oh and for xbox testing, just ask me and I’ll do the testing for ya  (Only if you want lol)
