Can you use developer products from other games?

Hi, I have a question regarding Developer products.

Does roblox allow you to use developer product ids from different games (and insert them into yours)? I’m asking because a while back I attempted to attach a developer product (for in game currency) that was created in a different game into my game. However, when you bought it, the error saying “Something went wrong, your account has not been charged” came up. After that I simply assumed that roblox does not allow you to attach developer products from different games into yours, but now I’m hearing something else.

Was it simply a problem with the script I was using or does Roblox just not allow you to attach developer products from different games?

Depends on What the product is and where it came from? (the tool box is an example) I will edit this to answer your question some more.) (also as long as it is not in violation of Roblox’s terms of service than you will be fine.) Edit:(I would not say you would have a problem unless an installation error occurred. (since some games copy off each other.)

Oh I should have made it more clear, my bad. It was a developer product for in game currency, and it came from a group game (I simply wanted the funds to go to the group).

So roblox does allow you to use developer products from different games? I assume it was just a problem with my code then since I wasn’t breaking the TOS. The error simply said “Something went wrong. Your account was not charged.”

Unfortunately, Roblox does not allow this. You can only successfully sell Developer Products in the place where they were made.

Yea, this is not allowed. It would basically be stealing one’s creations for another’s benefit (R$).

How? You wouldn’t earn any of that money. You don’t earn anything off of creations you don’t make, aside from making a commission (a % of sales). This is mainly in place because for security purposes and internal limitations that don’t allow products for use across games.

Oh, no no, just to sell developer products across games. Doesn’t necessarily have to be someone else’s game either, it could be your own games and you try selling a product from Game A on Game B. Won’t work. They’re only for the places of the game they’re created for.

Ah, I see now. Yea, I’d imagine a developer product would be under similar circumstances to animation files.

Animations are looser. Those are just restricted for use towards the entity who uploaded them. A group can use animations across any of its games only, individual developers can’t use those. Likewise, an animation uploaded by a developer can’t be used by other developers nor group games, even if the owner of the animation is also the owner of the group (and by that token, the group game).
