About Us

Welcome! I own Project Scorch, a small, independent game development team. I am looking for programmers, interface creators, and graphic design artists who are willing to join our team and work with us on our new game, Project Scorch!

Project Scorch is the (unintended) sequel to a former work of mine, Rails Unlimited. I have left that group to pursue a new approach, but I will need the help of a programmer first. Currently, I have some leftover code from the latter game, and while it is functional, it is not in the best shape and may need some significant refining.

Project Scorch was built up from former assets of mine, primarily from an unreleased concept from Q1 2019 known as Hot Steel. Hot Steel was left untouched since February 2019, as I was busy focusing on Rails Unlimited at the time. An early snippet of the prototype is seen in my Developer Medium article.

About The Job

I am looking for a experienced or professional programmer to join my team. I expect functional, streamlined code with little performance drops. Good communication skills are appreciated as I may check team progress daily and want to maintain a healthy relationship with one another.

Payment

An upfront minimum payment of 50 USD will be supplied to the first programmer who applies. This amount will be significantly larger if the programmer is capable of more complex coding.

I will be paying ~25K Robux monthly once the game is functional, and when it begins to earn enough group funds for these payments. My preferred payment method is Robux, but I can be flexible and accept Paypal as an alternative. I will offer a formal contract for you to sign that will guarantee payment for the assets you have created, with no backing down guaranteed.

Whist the idea of 25k monthly does sound appealing, the fact you are basing it on the condition that the game is earning that makes this a risky investment for a developer. I think you will find that most developers will require an upfront payment before accepting such a job as this is more similar to offering a percentage payment.
If you were to offer an upfront payment in addition to the conditional 25k per month I am sure you would get a few more applicants but as of present there is absolutely no guarantee that a developer will receive payment for this job and I imagine that you have had few applicants.
That said however I wish you luck in finding a developer

Unfortunately, I do not have enough funds in any of my groups or balances to do an upfront payment. I’ve considered paying with real money, however.

I edited the thread to include USD. I do have a lot of USD on hand, so that is not a problem for me.

I would be interested if there was a 50% of an overall payment for 50% of the work and then the other 50% when completed, this is mainly to just stop scams etc… I can work with both paypal or group funds, however cannot work with percentages as I don’t take risks. Message me back on the dev forum if you’re willing to do this as well on more info of main concepts of the game that need to be programmed.
