Candyland Map Build!

Hello everyone! I am creating a wonderful candy theme map with my friend, OMG_itsJaslyn! We’re going to be opening map comissions soon and since we don’t have any examples, we’re creating a map! We want this map to be perfect and we’re trying our best. So, please give feedback on our map, Candyland!

All assets were made by me or OMG_itsJaslyn by using either blender or roblox studio.

Definietly brings out the candy look there’s a lot of empty space.

Perhaps You could add some nature life in the space and make it pink to suit the theme.

Good Work Keep It Up

  • Hope this helped!

Wow that’s really good! I really like the theme you’re going for and think it’ll have no problem getting good opinions, however as always, there are room for improvements.

A few things that’d make it even better :

  • Add variations in tree sizes / shapes (sticking to the theme, maybe they’re lolly pop’s or candy floss tree’s) and spread them around, right now the outskirts look very empty and lonely
  • Add different house shapes, maybe one has a second floor - or is wider / taller than another one.
  • Add maybe small groups of 1 or 2 houses around the outskirts with some tree’s surrounding it.

That’s all I have to give criticism about and I really look forward to see where you and your friend take your development next.

There looks like a ton of empty space, move in the mountains a bit or add some things.
Overall, great build. Wish I could build like ya.

Oh! I forgot to tell everyone that this is still in progress! We’re planning to add much more things like a forest, beach, and more!

We do have candy floss trees! If you look closely behind the gingerbread houses, you’ll see the blue and pink candy floss trees!

This looks really good! I love the way the map ends. The mountains are fitting with the theme. However, there is a lot of open space behind the houses. You could add smoke coming out of the houses’ chimneys to make the village look more alive. Add more trees as lollipops to the landscape. Since the map is huge, there is plenty of space to expand the village. Single street villages look kind of deserted.

Here is an example of how you can improve it:

Thanks for the feedback! Also, there is smoke coming out of the chimney! It’s not very noticeable but it’s there! It’s a particle kind of smoke to add more style!

That’s a pretty cute style, i like the models and buildings, though it lacks some details!!

  • You should make some candy and place them around the map, like lollipops, candycanes, candycorns… just like in this map

  • lighting is a very important detail! Play with the particles, fog and ambient to make your map have a cozy aspect

  • Keep it consistent! You can’t just spam all candy wherever you want so randomly, you need to keep it eye-pleasing and leave everyone jaw-dropping!!

Hope I helped, keep my post in mind

This looks great at the start, I would just work on the overall detail of the map. This can include other candy, cookies, marshmallows, candy houses, and more however, if i’m not mistaken will their be other types of gingerbread houses? I believe the stuff i say might be already planned and added later in the build.

I like the design you are going with but, honestly, the candy looks pretty well together in my opinion. Try putting more details onto the map. Because the houses look a little repetitive i believe that’ll be changed throughout the whole map I would try placing a few items perhaps add other types of candy’s such as gingerbread houses, chocolate, gum drops, donuts, trees ect.

I would make the ground floor a little more of a vibrant color such as (Bright Pink) something similar to a few candy maps lively instead if this is not already consider making the trees come in other flavors like orange, yellow purple and more. Maybe add some more objects as well like bushes, plants and different variety of trees.

Overall you’ve done a decent job. The candy map looks good very creative.

Hello there, awesome build! I would suggest adding more detail to areas that aren’t in use. Maybe filling them up with something, or simply making the map smaller in that area.

Hope this has helped!
Happy Developing!

@Dronetto is that the map from Speed Race?

I love this design just one flaw is that the design on the edge of the house does not seem to be aligned with the main walls itself.

yup! i built for speed race

Oh! I thought I recognised it. I was looking at games that I could build maps for and saw speed race. I played it to see what style of maps already existed. I have to say Candy lands music and style was one of my favourites.

So for a beginner it’s not bad. I like the theme itself, candy islands and all of that stuff creates a breath-taking image, however, I must agree with everyone else that it is kind of plain and a bit bland. You may want to add more of a rough landscape, some grass, candy trees, better mountains, waterfalls, floating islands, basically anything you could imagine that would look well.

Very nice! Try using textures and making it 3D on the houses, not using decals. I think that would be the 1 main thing. Other than that, the environment looks nice. Also see if you can reshape the stones on the road.
