Cannot close studio - Stuck on blank screen

Hello everyone, I am having issues closing studio… It doesn’t let me close it, even though it is responding and all. It just closes the game view and ends up stuck on a “blank” window…

(I would have posted this in bug reports, but I can’t do that at the moment, probably don’t have the required level or something like that… I just really want help to fix this issue :frowning: )

  1. What do you want to achieve?
Closing Roblox Studio (using X icon on Windows)

  2. What is the issue?
I cannot close the application, it gets stuck on this blank screen:

It also seems that it starts using a lot of computing power once I try to close it:

Especially if I try to close multiple studio windows, then it gets real bad with 11GB+ of memory and like 80% CPU.

Here’s my studio log file, in-case it can help in finding the root cause of the issue:
0.651.0.6510833_20241117T100318Z_Studio_5C5ED_last.log (220.2 KB)

  1. What solutions have you tried so far?
I’ve tried completely re-installing Roblox and Roblox Studio by:
  • Uninstalling with the uninstaller.
  • Removing the Roblox files in LocalAppdata (where my install is).
  • Removing all Roblox-related registry keys via regedit (Registry Editor).

None of which worked. I also looked all over the DevForums and googled my issue, but nothing similar can be found.

Lastly, I guess one workaround I can use for now is to open task manager and kill the Roblox Studio instances whenever I want to close it. (and if I need to keep one window open I’ll re-open studio and open that one place again)

Found the issue!
I had this beta feature enabled:

(New Luau type solver)

It was the root cause of the issue, I would assume it was maybe going into a checking loop or something preventing the program from closing. Anyhow, by disabling it, all works now!

I hope Roblox fixes it or that this post helps someone else too!
(anyways, byee…)
