Cannot launch games from the roblox website

When I play a game from the website, the roblox player will not launch. I am running windows 10

Expected behavior

I expect the roblox player to launch with the game I’m playing. The player does not ever open and a crash log is recorded:

Do you have a version mismatch somewhere. Looks like current version is “c2e496d47acd4775” based on my logs, which corresponds to your log entry:

However, the client then tries to load from an older version “aa463de288b941f3”. Try removing/uninstalling the client and downloading it again. Hopefully that will fix it.

Hi, thank you for reporting with the logs.
Do you happen to have a file named “C:\Users\aidan.exe”? This file might be interfering with our logic to pick the right application. While we’re working on a fix, you can get around the issue by removing or renaming this file.

I’m experiencing a similar issue to @crossStarCross, but i don’t have any files under my user file directory of that type.

How would I go about diagnosing the issue?

For specifics, I’m running Windows 11 and every time I try joining through the Roblox web client, it either crashes or will crash eventually. There is no error message upon crashing, and I have a video showing the issue here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=82e_RkOTRZQ

@anon36900032 Looks like your issue is different than what was reported here. Do you mind sharing your logs from %LOCALAPPDATA%\Roblox\logs? They should start with a long number separated by periods.

Hi @newgate261, I would love to provide a log for you. However, the latest log I have (from 3/20/2024) exceeds the number of allowed characters I can write in a single message. Would a log from a previous date work fine? The runner up would be a log from 3/13/2024.
