Cannot overwrite group plugin

Reproduction Steps

The reproduction for this issue is simple and can be achieved as follows:

  • Create a new script in the workspace with its default print("Hello, world!") line
  • Publish this script as a group plugin that already exists. It is important that the plugin is not owned by the uploading user.
  • Open the link given by the publishing prompt to view the asset on the website

Expected Behavior

I expect the plugin to overwrite the existing group asset with my updated code.

Actual Behavior

The plugin actually saves to my own account instead of to the group. I have recorded a video of me doing this here:

I’m getting a similar problem to this. Although my plugin is published on my own account instead of a group, it won’t let me update it and if I try to overwrite it, it creates a completely new plugin instead. Very weird behaviour.

Hi! Thanks for reporting this. We’ve identified the root cause (same as this bug) and should have a fix for it live today or tomorrow.

I’m not sure if this bug is connected to my issue, but I’m experiencing a weird issue When I save a plugin as a Local Plugin my screen flickers (the Plugin has 6 different Buttons).

Hey @Xan_TheDragon @Wildcutepenguin, thanks for sharing this with us! We’ve just enabled a fix, so if you restart Studio it should work now. Let us know if it’s not and thanks again for informing us of the bug

@lilmazen1234 Not sure if that one’s related, but feel free to file a separate bug report for it though so it’s in our system

Thanks, the bug’s been fixed. The only problem is now I have three random plugins in my inventory from when I kept trying to update it. Is there any way I can archive them or get them removed completely? Because I noticed this is not a feature with plugins currently.
