Cannot Upload Meshes into Studio [HTTP 404 Error]

Currently I cannot upload a mesh into Roblox Studio and I am getting the following error message:

Step by step reproduction:

  1. Insert MeshPart into Studio.
  2. Upload mesh file via the MeshId in MeshPart’s properties.

Happening for me too. I have tried reinstalling Roblox studio and using different blender files and textures (ones that I haven’t had issues with prior) only to get the same error.

Does this apply to the 3D importer aswell? Does it happen to any mesh?

3D importer works just fine for me. It’s when you import via a MeshPart is where the problem lies.

I’ve been having the same issue too. I keep trying to upload meshes, but I get the same thing. I kept renaming my meshes to see if that would work, but I guess not.

Also having this issue this morning, was unable to upload FBX files, always results to a HTTP 404 (Not Found) error.

You can upload with asset manager. But another thing that’s seems broken for me since today is the sizing… Whatever size I make it keeps telling me the size is too big while they are smaller than the meshes I did yesterday

We are looking into the issue, from my initial testing it seems that this only happens when using the MeshID property importer in unpublished place.

If the place is published, or if you use Import 3D or the Bulk Importer the issue does not seem to occur. Will update when I have more information

Minor update: the issue seems to be inconsistent in published places, I have successfully uploaded on a freshly published place, but hit the error on a previously created one

Update! We found the issue and it should be fixed, please let me know if you encounter it again!

Sorry for the disruption!

Had this happen to me this afternoon, but using the 3D importer seems to work.

If you run into this issue after June 16 2024: make sure you have restarted studio at least once since June 13.

On the day of the issue we did 2 things:

  1. A short term fix to resolve the issue ASAP
  2. Started work on a longer term fix

The long term fix was released and enabled with Studio yesterday, but only applies when you restart Studio. Because we know some people keep studio open for extended periods of time, we are waiting until Monday to remove the short-term fix.

Please make sure you have restarted Studio at least once between today and Monday to avoid this issue resurfacing !
