Can't get Shadows right

Ever since Compatibility was removed I can’t get the shadows right.

It’s either too dark or there’s nothing at all. Compatibility lighting had these soft shadows whereas Voxel lighting sees no in-between. When I disable CastShadow of a ceiling, it creates a light gap in the centre, leaving the sides dark. To get rid of those darker sides, I disable CashShadow of those walls too, but that leaves no shadows at all.

Is there any way of getting soft, subtle shadows again that flow smoothly and aren’t super dark?

Is there a reason you’re not using future ?

try adjusting your EnvironmentSpecularScale

or EnvironmentDiffuseScale

Other properties listed on the same document might also help you.

Game was built on Legacy and after its removal on Compatibility for many years, hence why.

None of the Lighting properties properly affect the shadows, neither do lighting effects such as ColorCorrection (there’s no shadowcorrection instance :frowning: )

Are you using a ColorGradingEffect set to Retro? The instance was created to re-make the pre-2019 lighting style from Compatibility lighting. If you migrated from Compatibility, it should already be in-use. However, perhaps it didn’t get inserted for some reason? I’m not exactly sure if that is the issue you are running into, albeit I thought I’d jump in to say this just in case it is the issue.
