Can't I really sell any asset in my game?

So I’m the owner of a fangame. I know that in fangames, you can’t sell assets except if you have the permission of the creator of the original game. I’ve asked him, but still no response. All others fangame of this games sell assets in theirs game, without the approvement of the creator, of course. But I don’t want to break the rules so I need to ask. What can I sell except Premium Payout (not really a sale thought)?

  • Can I make a pls donate game inside my game?
  • Can I add a donation board?
  • And, I think no, but is there any ways I can sell gamepasses?

it depends on the copyright of the original game (or any other thing) has

For example, in a JoJo Game, you can’t sell gamepasses or put donation things without the JoJo owner permission

But in a Sonic game, you can do whatever you want unless you have bad reputation for anything in roblox or irl

(And in case for games related to nintendo… it’s a game-ban in days)

So you need to check the copyright to know what you can and not do.

Thank you very much! But in my case, it’s a fangame of another Roblox game, Slap Battles, so how can I check the copyright?

You can just search on google, see on wikis and that things.

But that game has no copyright about “copying” game idea, you should be fine doing it, but you need to add anything unique to your game, to the players don’t think it’s an entire copy of the game.

Well, in Slap Battles, you slap people to earn “Slaps” and earn new gloves with new abilities.

In my game, Glove Fight the gloves aren’t the same, I replaced the “Slaps” per the “Strikes”, I changed the map, all the things like that.

Is that good?

Yes, but try to don’t give the same feeling of Slap Battles, adding new functions that don’t exist on the original game.

It is okay to copy a game concept and make profit out of it. Unless the game literally has copyright enforcement.
