I am unable to search for some users using the Roblox search feature because their name is filtered. This also applies to searching for members of my group to pay Robux to, as seen in the screenshot below.
This user is not the only user affected by this issue. I would expect all users to show up when trying to pay Robux from a group. I assume this is due to the username text being filtered by Roblox, as similar results can be reproduced using phrases that are definitely filtered, such as curse words.
This is extremely confusing. Recently, I was trying to send a payout for a commission to my partner through Community, and even though I typed their username exactly as it is, no results would show up. As an alternative, I had to send the payout using their display name (which wasn’t filtered). Please fix this because it makes no sense, and I don’t understand why all of a sudden so many innocent words or word groups have to be filtered.
There’s another bug report on this topic here:
The username filter should be reviewed again. I can’t even search for some people in my connections list anymore on Roblox. Even if it won’t be fully fixed, at the very least this issue in the payout section should be resolved.
i had an issue with paying out some testers some time ago, i suspect the filter was the reason.
i found out you can search by their user id as a workaround
I have the exact same issue for my username, for some reason JayFissy is being filtered and you have to search JayFiss without the y just to find me in search. This is very time consuming and players can’t find me when searching for me.
