Today I discovered I’m no longer able to publish short sounds (this one in particular is <1 second), and I was previously able to do this with no issue as recently as late January.

You cannot distribute to marketplace, it is only reserved to Catalog Partners. The 6 second rule you’re reffering to was about older audio before the privacy update.

As the text under the Distribute on Creator Store switch says, we do not allow new audio to be distributed on the creator store. That being said certain legacy audio assets from before the privacy update can be set as distributable which is what you may have experienced in January.
Ok, I guess I got confused. Is there an ETA on being able to distribute audio assets again?
I don’t think so since current state of audio on Roblox is just bad. Also possible copyright infringement issues would make it even worse.
