For several months now I’ve been having issues publishing our game using “Publish To Roblox As”. It was bearable for a time because it would only fail maybe one out of every 5 publishes.
One minor issue is that hitting “retry” doesn’t publish anything to the desired place, only publishes the currently editing place. (but that’s neither here nor there)
The biggest issue is that the failure rate for publishing is increasing exponentially. It now fails to publish not only multiple times in a row, but it seems like 4 out of every 5 publish attempts now fail consistently.
It takes over 20 seconds for each publish attempt, and this issue is now seriously impacting our live op and update schedule. Updates to the game are now several minutes behind due to this issue alone.
Here’s the output log after just trying to push this week’s update to just 4 sub-places:
It seems like there’s a set number of errors per-place that you have to get through. Once you get past them you can publish regularly just fine until you restart studio, then you have to get through the errors again.
Hi. Just took a look at the logs. The root cause was bad internet connections and the requests have not been received by the server. Please check your computer’s network connection. Sorry about the confusing error messages. We plan to ship a messaging improvement soon that will specify this is “NetFail”.
Furthermore, as I mentioned above, there’s a set amount of errors. For example, after I get through 3 publishing errors to placeID 15000687579 it never happens again until I restart studio.
I am also having this same issue now as of a few hours ago, and its delaying my update i need to push for my game. It happened out of nowhere and its only affecting this one place.
I even tried to upload a baseplate to the start place that is having the “Internal Server Error.” issue. and it still says “Save Failed”.
I need to be able to update the start place. It lets me update any other place within the experience, even create new places in the experience with no problem.
Sorry for the bump, but can any roblox staff please take a look at these recent posts, this is affecting alot of games right now, costing revenue and player count. @GeneralTso58@OfcMeowMeowFuzzyface
Sorry for the late response, forgot to write it here.
Basically to solve the problem, I remembered everything that I edited on my local save compared to the newest save on my actual experience. I was lucky and everything was copy and pasteable. So I copy and pasted all my new edits to the actual live studio version and was able to publish from there.
Yeah, but even when i try to make a empty baseplate, and then upload that same empty baseplate to the start place that is having an “internal Server Error.” I still get the aforementioned error.
This seems like a switch that ROBLOX needs to flip in order to restore my place back to its working state.
