Every time I try to start a test server (no matter how many players initially) it fails. I’m on a 2016 MacBook Pro editing a brand new empty baseplate. The server window opens up but gets stuck with the splash screen in the center of my monitor and never gets past the login screen. I can’t interact with the window at all, and the loading animation with the three dots does not play. 100% occurrence rate. Restarted my computer and reinstalled Studio but it did not help.
Now that I look at the “Problem” screenshot a bit more, I can see that you’re not logged into studio. Have you tried to see if it works while you’re logged in?
I am logged into Studio, but the test server seems to stop responding before it logs me in.
The problem is still occurring on an empty baseplate.
Hmm, that’s odd. Maybe it’s a problem with the Mac version of Studio? I still can’t get it to trigger on Windows 10, and I don’t have any Mac computers to test it with. Is anyone else able to repro this on Mac, or even Windows?
I was getting this on Mac also, but on El Capiton. But the occurrence rate is more like 50% of the time. For example, I would start a test server with 2 players, and some times the server would not start and stop everything, other times the server starts, player1 doesn’t load, but player2 does.
Ah, so it seems like it’s more prominent on High Sierra.
This seems to be Mac OS related, as far as I can tell. If anyone on Windows encounters this issue, please let me know. I’ve added this to our bug list as a high priority item.
Any update on this bug? It’s still happening as described in the original post, and it’s got a pretty big impact on productivity.
Thanks!
It’s currently assigned to one of our engineers and should (hopefully) be resolved soon.
Any news?
The next update should resolve this issue. Please let me know if you are still having this issue after that.
