Can't Update or Install ROBLOX

Okay I came up with a hacky fix. For some reason [tt]launcher.Get_IsUpToDate()[/tt] is falsely returning [tt]false[/tt]. The workaround is to completely ignore [tt]launcher.Get_IsUpToDate()[/tt] and just assume the launcher is up-to-date.

Attached is the chrome extension. Thanks to Janthran for being my guinea pig and letting me narrow in on the problem.

Nice!

We’ve implemented a fix based on the issue observed in the provided logs. It should be released next week.

Did you guys by any chance attempt to kill the ROBLOX Launcher process while it was updating before this started happening to you?

I guess it’s possible I did. I definitely did multiple times after it started happening.

No clue, likely not, but there is a 10% chance I did. It was months ago, so I’ve got no recollection of it now.

Can you guys try install/update again and send me the most recent logs if it still does not work.

In addition to the logs in temp directory, another set can be found inside C:\Users\name\AppData\LocalLow\RbxLogs.

It seams to have worked, I launched two separate games. and it launched just fine after as nice as fast update

Same here. All seems well now!

This is back again, but this time I hadn’t run ROBLOX for a week or so, and it’s affecting both of my computers.
Installing a new Windows didn’t work, nor did uninstalling and reinstalling ROBLOX.

Studio’s still working fine, and ROBLOX can still be launched through the commandline.

How is this? My main computer that runs Roblox at 60 FPS (Compared to 50 or 30) is currently useless for the client. (Studio does run 100% fine)
Also. Documentation - Roblox Creator Hub
[sub]Posting link for admins, has log files in that post[/sub]

RobloxPlayerBeta.exe --id PLACEID

I am clueless what to do now… all I get is this:

Edit: Nvm, figured it out

For the most part, this is back.
This time, it gives me the download prompt, and it says “Preforming file check”, then redirects me to the games page.
Logs:

Edit: Ok, I think I may send this to RBXDev 911 because I noticed this issue last night right after the updating,
Edit 2: Appears to be Internet Explorer only
Edit 3: Ok, this is an issue with the new launcher, and I think Arseny did not have this so I think he was a tiny bit mad in the response. :stuck_out_tongue: Did as the announcement on Google Chrome that said to email info @ roblox.com. Hopefully I can use Internet Explorer again in … 5 weeks.

Help! I tried going into a game and Roblox wouldn’t successfully update itself. I left and came back to this error:

EDIT: Tried uninstalling and now it won’t reinstall. The on-site dialog is stuck on “Getting the latest from ROBLOX…”
I’m using Chrome on Windows 7 if this helps. This is kind of a big problem.

EDIT 2: This is really widespread, the main forums’ help section is loaded with angry threads about this.

EDIT 3: Broken on IE also. I’m sending an email to RBXDev911, this is bad and it’s going absolutely nowhere.

Don’t. Arseny could get bad at you like it somewhat seemed like he did for me. I already attempted, and it is for ingame breaking, not joining a game.

Too late…
I interpreted being unable to join as being “Game-Breaking” since it’s eating at my game’s player base.

guess we’ll see what happens then. :emo-angst:

Well guys, I’m sorry to say this but I gave up on the whole situation because nothing would work. I ended up buying a new computer (I needed a new one anyway)

This happened to me a few days ago actually. I uninstalled and couldn’t reinstall, so I deleted everything from appdata, restarted multiple times, and had no luck.

Then a Studio shortcut magically appeared on my desktop.
