Can't upload images through studio

For some reason, when I click on “Texture” in studio to upload an image for a decal, the Add image button doesnt pop up, and It want’s me to put a link instead.

I was able to upload an image earlier, but now I’m unable to. Is there any reason behind this?

I suggest restarting Studio and seeing if it works then.

What decal are you trying to place on the part?

I’m trying to upload a photo from my PC onto studio. Usually when you click texture, there’s a UI that allows you to do that. But for some reason it’s not appearing anymore.

Have you uploaded the image as a decal on Roblox?

No. Usually it let’s me upload direct to studio, and then it automatically uploads to Roblox. For example, this decal was uploaded in studio. I didn’t upload it through the site.

Try uploading it via the website, then copy the ID, that should fix the problem.

Yes, but he should still be able to upload it through studio.

Yes, but if that is bugged the next best thing is to upload it through the website.

I know but the op isnt looking for a different way or bypass, they is looking for a reason behind this.

Other than that yes it is a temporary bypass to do it through the website, but the reason for this inability to upload is the question asked here.

EDIT; And honestly anyways I never upload through studio, I find it better to upload via website.

Make sure the place you’re working in is published. If it is already published then try using the asset manager. Import your image from there then copy its ID and paste it in the decal.

Hey,

I know I am probably a bit too late since this discussion is 3 years old but I want to help you and new developers that have the same issue. The reason why you cannot upload an image to roblox can have multiple issues.

  • The most common issue is that you havent published your project. Go to game settings, enter a name and description and click on Publish. Wait for you game to load and try again.

  • Try restarting Roblox Studio if you already have saved and published your game.

  • Maybe you don’t have the permission to change properties if you don’t own the game.

Question: Do you have the same issue with ImageLabels and Textures?
