Cartoony Style Water with Ripple Effect!

Here’s a cartoony styled water with a ripple effect which I made myself. I decided to publish it on here as it is used in many popular showcases and nobody really knows how to do it, so I’m giving you guys the model!

I did remake this from other users on twitter.

The moving water uses a beam which can be accessed through the attatchment in the “water” part in the model, you can change the size of the beam through “width0” and “width1”.

Here is the link to the model: https://www.roblox.com/library/6590287653/Moving-Water-model-with-white-ripple-effect

Looks really nice, but there is something like a “shadow problem”

Example:

Is it possible to fix that?

Edit ↓
I just turned off the CastShadows of the Model, it works now.

I think you forgot the part where you credit the person who actually made this.

Yeah, I think this is the original creator. I am weirded out of how this creator was bullied after refusing to show how they made this.

Yeah - realised my wording was technically incorrect. It was their technique originally, but this looks like a basically identical replica of the open source version I linked above.

Thanks :slightly_smiling_face:

I didnt realise that one existed mate, I actually remade this one from photos on twitter that people were posting.

And I did specify that this wasn’t my original idea in my post.

Hope this helps.

Where did you say that it wasn’t your idea? It only says that you made it and nobody else knows how to do it apparently.

I feel like I have seen this same water somewhere…

I know what you mean, some other free model water in the toolbox

Anyways this water looks and functions amazingly!

I thought it was this:

Am I blind? Because I can’t see anything on your example?

EgoMoose made something similar back in 2018 , just in case someone is curious of a different implementation https://twitter.com/egomoose/status/1037901559147966464?lang=en

Wow, it took a while before it started to get implemented!

Really good memory, this was before I even started developing :joy:
