Casual Adventure - The Great Passion Project

Casual Adventure (formally ModVenture) was a project of mine. Really the idea started back in 2009. The most recent build (which has been redone twice) started in the summer of 2014.

This is a long time.

So I’m either making it or breaking it. I’m letting you guys take a look at the game. If it’s generally well received I may continue working on it. If not, I don’t mind shelving it for another six years.

Ahem…

This has to be tastefully done. Marketing team says so.

Here at Three Casual Guys productions we’re excited to share with you an adventure. We’ve been working like dogs to bring you a game that will literally bring you to your knees. This game will radiate the light of Heaven and blind your undeserving eyes.

You will be taken hostage by this game. It will brutally assault your senses until you are left crying tears of sweet, sweet ignorant bliss in the corner of your sad room. Your lonely life will be no more because this game will consume you. It will literally eat your face, spit it out so you can remember it still holds you hostage, and then eat it again. This game will not please you mildly, it will cause you extreme pleasure to the point of excruciating pain.

So without further ado (and at the expense of our hard-ass marketing team), Three Casual Guys presents to you, Casual Adventure.

Wow.

That was really impressive and really polished. Everything was fluid and worked well; something I haven’t seen in a ROBLOX RPG before. The environment and UIs were the biggest positives for me and the combat system is really simple to use.

The one thing I didn’t like was how obtrusive the minimap was and how it didn’t really fit with the style of the UIs in the game. A smaller map in the corner with a larger one available via a hotkey would be preferable in my opinion.

I’d definitely continue working on it, I think it has enormous potential

I enjoyed that. A lot

Do I even need to say it?

Greg, I saw you liked this. You should know by now I don’t go away. Ignoring me won’t work.

ghasdasd it’s killing me. I’ve heard the song of the grasslands outside of the mentor’s cave before, but I can’t remember from where. Where is that song from?

Edit: OMG It’s Spyro isn’t it?! One of the Gameboy games IIRC. Aw the nostalgia.

Yeah this is one of a kind and has a nostalgic feel to it.
Definitely could be a revolutionary game, in my opinion.

My only complaint would be that the combat camera needs a lot of work.

Bugs I’ve spotted so far:

I got stuck in this animation.

The other animations would play but then it would reset back to this pose rather than the idle.

This Citizen keeps walking stationary, I mean at least put him on a treadmill!

p.s: I adore the chickens

this is where I met spideyrulz like 3 years ago gawd dam

Super super rad, I love this

My only thing is the tutorial area music was a bit too obnoxious

Played for a while then hit this bug and couldn’t progress

beyond that though this game is super comfy, keep it up

Amazing. Worth every bit of work you have put into it. Keep going!

So far I loved it! The combat camera spazzed for me the first time I used it, then the next time it put me at a really odd angle. I think more sound effects for swinging, landing hits, even just walking, would really benefit the game.

Still, overall, this was amazing! Keep up the good work!

My god… I remember modVenture. I actually did a beta run when you were doing it. Without even looking at the group, I assume it’s you, Kuunan, and NanuukOfTheNorth. I’ll edit if I’m right.

Edit; Yep. I used to talk to Kuunan and Nanuuk a whole bunch on Molt. Old times.

  • clicking equipped hat/shirt/pants multiple times just keeps piling on the windows instead of toggling them
  • first thing I did when I reached land from the boat was go to the crypt - a quest triggered a b o v e me in the market while I was down there. I replied with “uh…” because I was like wat.
  • bandit cave treasure chest threw a debug brick at me:

I’ve had this game Favorited for ages, can’t wait to try it out

Kept crashing :frowning:

I crashed every time I started a new quest or leveled up ![](upload://vE83MfNYOvEb4GXTtCXcoTS2ldw.png) ![](upload://uu2vwJuohNPGg40HoKbVcQCZffu.png) ![](upload://97Uqxthlz4NILpdmeAA8pzifJu7.png) ![](upload://q02dRY7noXaXjOwu6N2RmOrJ4T2.png)

Couldn’t close the map after opening it; because the button was hidden. A few of the monsters like spiders didn’t attack me.

Apart from that, the game was awesome. Haven’t been this excited about a roblox game in a while

Yeah I didn’t mention that as I thought it was just my PC.
I crashed like 8 times.

Anyone else crashing a lot?

this game turned me from a stupid dumb and ugly player into a heroic player

this game has changed my life and i will never forget it

10/10 would recommend

Greg this is incredible.

The amount of hype Casual Adventure (Mod-Venture, etc…) has generated since its inception is there for a reason. You and the other Two Casual Guys are incredibly talented and it shows in this game - everything is very well polished, the gameplay is loads of fun, and it feels like an out-of-ROBLOX experience.

I’m giddy like a 2010 me again.

The Casual Adventure is a worthy opponent to Hexaria, you’re making me tempted to redo all of our cities to maintain our asthetic more. I loved the Casual Adventure maps and quests
