I’m creating a list of catalog bugs, inconsistencies, and potential improvements. If you’ve got any catalog bugs or issues, I’d love to hear about them.

If you go to the library and search something, then refresh or go to another page and back, the search is not there, and in some cases, you are back to models even if you aren’t in models. That could use changing in my opinion.

Are you asking about the catalog itself or catalog items?

We need a better search engine for searching the catalog. On Google you can search something in quotes such as “Metal Gear” and it’ll only find items with Metal Gear in their title/description. However if you do it without quotes it’ll show items that have either Metal or Gear or both.

So basically improve searching. Also we need to get rid of people putting 500 words in the descriptions listed as tags, I don’t want to search “Duck” and get the new grey Hoodie that shows up instead.

This isn’t a bug with the catalog, but I came across it while trying to get to the catalog. Say my search term is “Hat”, but previously searched “HatRack” or something. The autocomplete thing comes up:

If I click catalog, or any of those buttons, nothing happens. Clicking out of the search box while an autocomplete is up breaks all of the buttons in the search menu. Happens on Firefox. Was not able to get the autocomplete to come up on Chrome.

I have a lot to say about the catalog bugs and inconsistencies. I use the catalog every day and I love it and dislike it as the same time. d: I’ll start with the ones fresh on my mind.

Show Unavailable Items [inconsistency]

  • go to Hats
  • check Show Unavailable Items true
  • type in anything in the search box
  • the checkbox you clicked always resets to false

“Browse By Category” hover [bug]

  • mouse over Clothing

  • hover the mouse over Body Parts below it, then quickly hover to the right

  • the hover-list on the right doesn’t update to Body Parts like it should

  • also, if you just quickly switch between categories, the hover-list on the right doesn’t even cjhange/ get updated half the time

Add “Creation Date” to the sort [improvement]

  • the “Sort by: Recently updated” is not adequate, as that sort gets over-saturated by mere thumbnail-updates like arceusinator is making, and Gear fixes like luckymaxer and him are doing.

Catelog JSON is not updating right when items are released [improvement]

  • There are item notifiers on twitter, as standalones, and as chrome plugins. They notify users when the Roblox account releases an item for sale. But for the rest of the players, the Catalog is what they use, and that is inconsistently 4-10 minutes slower than notifiers.

“Develop” tab. [Split from the Catalog, but uses the same code. The above also applies to this section.]

  • “Browse by All Categories” is missing.

“Legend” collapsible sidebar in the catalog [inconsistency]

  • it’s currently only has 3 icons:
  • BC-only, Limited only, Limited U only. It’s missing TBC, OBC, as well as the “Timed-sale” (that appears on the top right of the item icon)

Useable “Legend” collapsible sidebar in the catalog [suggestion]

  • I would like to be able to sort through the catalog by “BC-only”, etc. if I just click one of those icons on the left.

Unsure if this is still being looked at but searching in the library in the top navbar will just take you to here regardless of what you search.
