Catalog Items Showing Negative Favorites Count

I have noticed that some catalog items on Roblox are displaying a negative number of favorites, which is not possible under normal circumstances. This issue could confuse users and might indicate a bug in the favoriting system or the display of favorite counts.

For instance, when viewing the catalog, certain items show a negative value in the favorites section. This issue persists across different items and is consistent each time the page is refreshed.

Below, I have included an example of an item that exhibits this bug, along with a screenshot for reference.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Navigate to the Roblox catalog.
  2. Search for specific items or browse through the catalog.
  3. Observe the favorites count on affected items, which shows a negative value.

Expected Result:
The favorites count for any item in the catalog should be zero or a positive number.

Actual Result:
Certain items display a negative number of favorites, which should not be possible.

This is just an acknowledgment announcement!

Thanks for flagging!

Hello the issue seems to persists, one of my friends uploaded a UGC and it has negative favorites still.

Bumping this because the issue is still ongoing, and the item currently has -831 favorites.

Dear user, we have overwritten the value with the correct non-negative favorite count of the item. Please let us know of other assets that have the same problem and we can correct them for you. Otherwise, I am going to close out this ticket.

It’s extremely unrealistic for this item to have 25,600+ favorites… Are we sure that’s the correct number?:wilted_flower::broken_heart:

And no, aside from this item, I haven’t seen any other item in the catalog with a negative favorite count.

It probably got a lot of favorites it normally wouldn’t have gotten because people saw negative favorites and wanted to see what would happen if they clicked the favorite button themselves.

Was this just an issue with display or was it showing negative internally as well?

Yes its true, we aggregated internally from our own database of user favorites.
