Lately, some (not all) players on my game have been reporting that they can no longer see chat bubbles.
My experience doesn’t have a chat window and operates through bubble-chat only.
I originally thought this was related to us using legacy chat but I then upgraded a dev build to use the TextChatService and got players experiencing the issue to try to chat there but it seems like they still have the issue and cannot see anything.
A few notes:
- One of the players used an alt account and was able to view chat only when using that account (on the same device).
- Players state they are able to see the chat in other games.
- I thought it was related to legacy chat only but it seems like it also happens with the new chat.
- As far as I’m aware, my game doesn’t do anything special with chat other than changing the colour and distances.
- This is not related to their privacy settings as far as I’m aware, as they screenshotted it and it shows “who can text chat with me” set to everyone.
- Their chat does in fact get sent, I can see it but they can’t.
I’ve added some of the players its happening to and the experiences to the private section.
Expected behavior
Players should be able to see their own chat bubble and other players’ too.
