CFL: This Season's Recap For All 8 Teams

The season is coming to a conclusion on Monday night when the Colts take on the Broncos in Indianapolis. It’s been up and down for lots of teams this season, some teams did better then expectations, while others failed to meet expectations. With nothing else to be said, let’s break-down and recap the season for all 8 teams of the Championship Football League.

Packers: 2-4
Team Needs: OL, QB, DL, S

After a thought to be excellent selection before the season began, the Packers were thought to be one of the beast teams of their division. Well not exactly. Injuries and inactivity flooded their team and there was no consistency at quarterback. As the QB they selected turned out to be a bust that only played in 1 game, with-in that game throwing an interception and being sacked. The Packers have major needs at offensive lineman as the last game of the season vs the Rams was a nightmare for their back-up QB. Rarely did any player do something special in a game and their captain shadic1234443 was one of the only reasons the Packers didn’t go 0-6. With all of the rookie mistakes and rust out of the way, they will look to move on and get prepared for free agency and the draft.

Panthers: 2-3-1
*Team Needs: QB, WR, DL, LB
Panthers WR & CB CupCakeYummy

The Panthers were expected to make a big run with the defense that was put together during the team selection. But quickly the issues started to show. The offense had no type of receivers at all. With their #1 WR CupcakeYummy mostly being out with injuries and other players struggling to show up. QB became a nightmare to manage, as even the panthers starting QB for the season was exiled from the league due to account abuse violations. The defense though was pretty solid as expected. Rookie CB Mallman filled in nicely as the #1 CB. This season he recorded 16 tackles, 2 INTs, and 2 Pass Break-Up’s . The final game vs the giants he even filled in as running back for the Panthers as he had 4 carries for 15 yards. Not much, but compared to what the stupid stuff running backs can do, it’s legendary. Defensive line was very disappointing as captain HookaMaka failed to get at least 3 sacks for whatever the reasons were. So they’ll look to find some replacements for multiple positions In the draft or in free agency. The Panthers will need to Immediately get a quarterback to even make the offense bearable. That’s if they want to stay good in a division with VERY tough teams.

Giants: 5-1
Team Needs: WR, S, QB
Giants CB CJ_SkillsP

The Giants were thought to be an up and down team with being one of the few teams in the league without a coach. They definitely proved everyone wrong this season when they became the team with arguably the best defense in the league. CB CJ_Skills had a spectacular season as a captain and cornerback for the giants, having 32 tackles and 2 pass deflections. They had lots of success at defensive line with their leader in sacks n0limit having 6 sacks and on offense even helping keep the ship steady and opening up holes for RB SuperNinja to run. They’ve kept a very fun and energizing team culture that makes football fun to play. With a probable bloxx bowl run, the Giants are definetly one of the most successful teams in the league this season. Their starting QB for the season legendary was mostly inactive, and receivers struggled to run routes, But those issues will be easily fixed.

Rams: 2-3-1
*Teams Needs: CB, RB, DL, LB
Rams CB mconaway

The Rams didn’t have that bad of a season as the record says. The offense still performed very well and receiver xxx_bows still had a season with 300+ receiving yards. That being said, the offensive line performance kept the rams in the game, and next season they’ll be able to improve. One issue the rams definitely had this season that had them losing a few games were miracle plays. The rams lost to the giants in the season opener on a kick-off TD, then again facing them the second time. Cornerback play killed the team as well. There were lots of drives where there was random choking, but anyone could easily say that it’s due to there very complicated zone and man schemes. They should still draft one though. There aren’t too many things that need to be fix, they’ll for sure be back in the play-off race next season.

Patriots: 4-2
Team Needs: WR, LB

Patriots DE IIRUNMOMS

Just like in the past few seasons and in real life even, the Patriots did great. They finished the season with having the best defensive line with their DE RUNMOMS having 8 sacks, finishing with the best offensive line with QB SkullMaster being sacked less then 10 times, and the best run game, with RB AchingHead having 15 carries for 60 yards and 2 TDs. All led the league for RBs. The Patriots do have a few small WR issues, but xXKiller and CaptainDominator did their jobs nicely this season. Linebacker is a cherry on top of the cake, they could use a smart, quick, player that can come up and make a score-saving tackle, it’s not much to think about. It would only improve their already great defense even more. Not too much to say and everything was expected.

Colts: 4-2
Team Needs: RB, LB, DL
Colts QB PENHEADLARRY

The colts performance throughout the season was sky-high. Having Pen as quarterback for the Colts was a good move for both the team and him. In return, gaining 4 wins and having their best WR 38Choppaz totaling 19 catches for 560 yards and 9 TDs. League records. They put up good matches with the fierce patriots defense and was solid all-around throughout the season with line play. If PENHEAD officially declares to stay as the Colts quarterback for next season, adding a run game would be a very great idea to keep the offense going when the throws aren’t right. Adding an extra WR would be a good option so that there’s more weapons for Pen to throw to, and to put less load of work on #1 WR 38Choppaz. The Colts will need to add a few defensive pieces too for everything to stay in place, and if everything that happened this season can continue and even get better, they will soon be your Bloxx Bowl Champions.

Broncos: 3-3
Team Needs: OL, DL , RB, WR,
Broncos WR wertyword

The Broncos did way better then anyone thought they would have done. They sit in the most gruesome conference having to go up against top 5 defenses in the Steelers, Patriots, and Colts. Quarterback was a major dysfunction until QB Alex_Maze stepped in and had an amazing half season. Their best WR wertyword held out until the last game, which crippled the receiving core all season. Defensive line was trash, Offensive line was garbage. The needs of this team are SERIOUS, and expecting that the Broncos will go heavy in free agency and in the draft with their positions of need, there are already great pieces for this young team to build off of. The Broncos will definitely be better next season if Alex and Werty can stay healthy and have the smooth chemistry that they possessed in the later half of the season. If the defense can step up, and the offensive line steps up and they can find a solid RB or #2 WR, they will be a legit team. Props to not going 0-6.

Steelers: 1-5
Team Needs: QB, RB, LB, WR
Steelers QB soccerboss

The Steelers failed to meet expectations with the type of talent they had on their team. But this situation is very similar to the Rams, lots of games were won by miracles, as the first 2 games of the season had last second TD’s that quickly won the opposing team the game. The Steelers also had some terrible Cornerback play similar to the Rams, but one of the things that I have to roast in the article is the quarterback play. It… was… straight… up… GARBAGE. The veteran quarterback soccerboss came in and handled the spot well and keeping the team in check, but a major issue was turnovers and quick throws to make. Many would turn into incompletes or INTs. With the outlook of a possible retirement, the Steelers will most likely draft a quarterback in the 1st round this upcoming draft. They’ll also look to draft a few cornerbacks and running backs to get the team back to the bloxx bowl they were in less then 2 seasons ago.
