[CGA] Complex Gymnastics Academy Student guide

Introduction

  • Greetings! In this guide, you will find all resources needed in order to be successful as a student.
  • If you are here in search of staff material, you won’t find it here. Staff material/resources at the CGA will be given in private by norvials.
  • We do not have a schedule, however in the future we will construct one. For now, coaches give times when they will be hosting the classes for the day. Up to two classes are hosted each day.
  • Our group hosts in EST (American) time. You will need to convert your time zone to Eastern to make sure you arrive on time to events!

Rules

We require ALL members using our facilities/using our name to follow a set of rules. If you are caught disobeying any of these rules, you will be removed depending on the severity.

  1. You must not say/show any support for racism, homophobia, transphobia, discrimination, or ANY disrespect to ANYONE or any GROUP. Disrespect is NOT tolerated. No matter someone’s background, race, gender, ethnicity, beliefs, or sexual identification, Complex Gymnastics Academy will support that. If you do not agree with these statements, CGA is NOT for you. People should be defined by the content of their character.

  2. Be friendly, and accepting. Don’t cyberbully. We will do our best to create a friendly, fun environment, however we need your help! Please be mindful of you and others thoughts/feelings before typing something in the chat.

  3. You are not allowed to impersonate ANYONE, especially a staff member. Pretending to be a staff member when you’re a gymnast can confuse a lot of people, and it is not tolerated. If you are impersonating a real person or celebrity, that is alright, just please be mindful of your actions.

  4. Do not begin any drama. Drama is NOT tolerated. If you have an issue with someone, contact the nearest person in authority, or a staff member.

  5. Do not swear or bad-mouth in any form. Though we are separate, the CGA is a ROBLOX-based group. Thus, you must follow all Roblox Community Guidelines.

  6. Keep your opinions on political or social matters to yourself. Yes, you ARE entitled to your own opinions, but please do not share them online, our platform is nowhere for those topics.

  7. Do not beg for a level up, admin permissions, etc. These are earned, and not given.

  8. Share the gymnastics equipment.

  9. Do not troll/spam/exploit. Depending on your actions, you will receive different punishments. These ideas are not tolerated.

  10. Have fun! Complex Gymnastics Academy should be a fun place for everyone! If you are having trouble, let someone know!

Student ranks/levels
  • As of right now, students will be divided into four basic learning levels.
  • Beginner level: This includes New Gymnasts and Novice Gymnasts. Beginner students attend classes, and learn the basics and fundamentals to virtual gymnastics.
  • Intermediate level: This group includes the Intermediate and Senior Intermediate gymnasts. Intermediate leveled gymnasts focus on building good technique, and learn how to build a routine by themselves.
  • Competitive level: The competitive level is one of the most advanced groups. This includes the Novice Competitive and Competitive gymnasts.
  • Elite Team: Our Elite Team is the group we use to compete against other groups, and they receive the most attention/critical training within the entire program. To get in, you must tryout in our monthly auditions. Anyone is allowed to audition, but results will most likely consist of the higher-level students.

Our Elite Team and Competitive gymnasts are paid in ROBUX.

Our ranks for students:

  • [1] New Gymnast: New gymnasts are the people who just joined our group! They are allowed to attend classes, competitions, etc. This is the first rank of the beginner level.
  • [X] Suspended: Suspended students that are prohibited from joining events. They are banned from all facilities.
  • [2] Novice Gymnast: Novice gymnasts are the next rank. Though they are still on the beginner level.
  • [3] Intermediate: The first intermediate level. Students on the intermediate level should be active, and expected to be more likely to show up at competitions.
  • [4] Senior Intermediate: This is the final rank of the intermediate level at CGA. These students are expected to know how to construct a routine by themselves, and be a strong candidate at competitions.
  • [5] Novice Competitive: This is the first competitive group rank. They are introduced to the competitive system.
  • [6] Competitive: Competitive students are expected, more than ever, to set an example for other students. These students may also volunteer to be in our “Student assistant” program. They are allowed to help in classes, competitions, etc.
  • [SA] Student Assistant: When applications come out, competitive students are allowed to apply for this role. They can drop out of the program at any given time, and they will go back to their original rank. This rank helps at classes, competitions, and is involved within some staff-related events.

In order to become a staff, you don’t need to be an SA (student assistant) first. You can apply for staff even as a New Gymnast!

How to rank up

At the CGA, if you are interested in leveling up (for example, I’m a Novice Gymnast and I want to be Intermediate), then you must attend classes, competitions, and events. Here are the requirements for leveling up:

  1. Attend classes, competitions, and events. At every group-hosted event, we take student/staff attendance. If you have good attendance, (1-3 classes per week), then you will stand out for your activity and dedication. Our attendance trello: Trello . If there is a mistake on the trello, please let us know on the group wall.

  2. Set a good example. No matter what rank or level you have, you should pay attention in class, follow the rules, and set a good example!

  3. Get noticed. At CGA, you must be noticed by an HR to be leveled up. We look for students who have good attendance, set an example, and do well in their classes. We also look for students who are leaders, and follow the rules like they’re supposed to. As you go through each gymnast rank, it will be harder to level up to the next. The competitive ranks are the hardest to get!

Class schedule

For now, we do not have a set schedule for classes. However, to see when the next one will be held, follow these steps!

  1. Go to our trello board. You may do that by clicking this link: Trello

  2. Find the “Incomplete” list. This will give you a list of all of the classes that haven’t passed yet!

  3. Read the cards. The cards will tell you (in order): Who is hosting the class | What time it is in Eastern | What day it is Month/Day | If it is for beginner, intermediate, advanced, or for all students.

Please remember: If the class is scheduled for a level other than your own, you are allowed to join, but please leave the class alone. For example, if I am a beginner and the intermediate class is being held, I AM allowed to join the game, but I need to go somewhere else.

Two classes ARE allowed to be held at once if they are different levels. For example, if a beginner and intermediate class is being held at 6:30, both can be there, they just need to be mindful of their space, and focus on your own class.

  1. Be prepared. Join the class on time, and you should be set! If you don’t know when your class is because of where you live, visit this website to convert Eastern timezone to your own: https://www.thetimezoneconverter.com/
