Chair Creation Tips

  • What are you attempting to achieve? I’m trying to achieve making a well-detailed and proportional chairs for my game(s).

  • What is the issue? I want to make realistic chairs, beds, or anything that you sit on. I look at builds online or on the dev-forum and try to recreate them, but once I do make the chairs, they look awkward.

  • What solutions have you tried so far? I have tried looking at the dev-forum wiki, and I used some designs for reference with my chairs. The outcome is VERY different from their chairs and mine, though.

Some examples of the chairs I made:

Chairs that I want to make:

I want a chair like this, but less cartoonish and more realistic.

If I could get some tips, that would be amazing!

I’m not to sure if this would work, but try look at them in a real life perspective and see if the structure of the chair can stay upright. If you know what I mean. Or view it another way

In order to achieve the look you want, you would need to create the chair in a 3d modeling software such as blender and then import that model into Roblox Studio. The look of the chair you want to make cannot be created within Roblox Studio.

Well, honestly, I’d prefer if you could apply some realistic textures on the chair, I think that would work and would make your chair look a little bit less cartoonish, along with lessening the lively colors that made it look cartoonish.

As @EmperorRoblox7 said, you would need to create a chair like that (the “top part”) in a 3D modeling software such as Blender. You could also try to play around with unions and different types of parts, but it will be difficult to make a realistic chair since that will make it quite blocky.

So I suggest you learn how to use a 3D modeling software such as Blender, or hire someone to make it for you.

This could be created using studio itself I’m assuming the chair parts are meshes - unions the legs look like a cylinder mesh just sized properly and rotated with smaller parts keeping it up and secured in place.

You could possibly use a 3D software to create something simple like this you could use a software to create a simplistic design if your striving to make detailed couches or chairs try learning the software itself and you’ll learn the ropes around blender. Additionally, since the parts look simple to make with enough of experience to have that realistic approach try throwing a custom texture if your going for those detailed type of chairs tables, or couches.

However at this point I don’t really see this as difficult to create. I’m curious if your wanting to get into a 3D modeling software learn and practice I’m assuming this is a union and the parts are created using a cylinder I don’t think blender needs to be involved to create something like this.

I might get into using Blender soon, thanks for the feedback!
