As roblox is advancing towards realism and its gaining more players and developers from other communities, 2d clothes should not be named “Classing clothing” Instead they should be called body painting. That way we can address issues regarding safety. while Classic clothing works on blocky avatars it doesnt seem right on more realistic rthro, or less blocky characters that dont have 3d clothing and instead have “Classic clothing” makes it look like an undressed character with body tattoes.
Its not a secret that roblox wants to bring more realistic characters and im fine with it, but realistic charactes that have “Classic clothing” which does not even give a shape of a cloth and instead just looks like painted over its body should not be called wearable clothes
Calling it “body painting” would imply that ALL R6 avatars are naked, and all blocky R15 avatars are also naked. (Seriously, who uses layered clothing on the blocky rig?)
Why change something for 0.1% of players that makes everything else about it seem 1000x worse?
Because roblox is getting more diverse on characters, in the begining of 2026 they will intruduce more realistic avatars, and the new generation will be exposed to more versatile amount of realism and expressive avatars. Just imagine a humanoid avatar does wear what you call "Classic clothing instead of actual clothing. That would look like a bodypaint. Also if you count “classic clothing” as clothing will make people bypass and make naked avatars.
so basically forcing a black bar to be textured ON TOP of 2D clothing?
first off, that will ruin the design of 2d shirts and pants in a very blunt manner
second off, that would look like a massive crotch and/or top censor bar
