Changing camera mode does not apply until you rejoin

On mobile, I’ve noticed that camera mode changes don’t apply until you rejoin.

Reproduction Steps

  1. Join any experience
  2. Change camera mode in settings
  3. Notice how changes to this setting are not respected until you leave and join an experience.

To demonstrate, here’s a video:
2022-08-15 - Roblox iOS Camera Mode Bug.mov (link removed)

Expected behaviour
The camera mode actually changes when the setting is changed in settings.

Actual behaviour
The camera mode does not change until you rejoin.

I’m not sure exactly how long this has been occurring, but I know this isn’t a new issue. I’m using an iPhone XR on iOS 15.

We were able to reproduce the issue and filed a ticket for it! Will come back with a reply as soon as we have updates!

Thanks for the report!

Hi again, do you have updates to share on this issue? I am continuing to receive the bugged behaviour I described in my original post and was just wondering if there has been any action as of yet.

The issue is still happening and as OP has mentioned, changing the camera mode option in the Roblox in-game menu only applies after you rejoin the experience. I believe that this issue should be given attention now, it is one of the long-standing Roblox bugs that have been left unfixed for years now.

I can’t reproduce this issue anymore, was it resolved?

No, it’s still happening for me. I am using a Samsung Galaxy M12 phone mainly to reproduce it and I also was able to reproduce it on other Android devices. I got no clue if it happens on Apple devices or not.

Edit:-

Here is a video showing how it looks like on a Windows PC:-

And on an Samsung Galaxy M12 Android phone:-

You can even notice it in the emulator (iphone 14 pro):-

It doesn’t happen when you play test without an emulator or when play testing on an emulator on any device that isn’t a Mobile device.

Thanks, this was super helpful!

Hi @bt5191
looks like there hasn’t been any reply to this thread in over a year. Curious if this issue is still reproducible for you or relevant?

I’ve made a detailed comment regarding this bug already, and yes, I’ve just tested it out now and it is still happening.

@bt5191 , it should be fixed now.

Can you please check?

Hello there @Paragraph3232,

I am not the OP who you’ve pinged, however, I can confirm that the bug appears to be fixed on my side on V698 on Android. Took 3 years, but better late than never I guess.
