Changing costumes on Avatar editor does not change your avatar's skin tone

This bug seems to only occur on the website and not the mobile app (based on what I’ve tested). Something else I have noticed is that updating an already existing costume does not change the costumes image, however refreshing the page fixes it, unsure if it is related however it started occurring around the same time.

Sorry for bumping this topic, but it’s still a huge issue. Roblox team needs to look at this. I have to change skin tone manually after changing a costume. I’m using chrome browser on Windows 10. It happens on both, R15 & R6 Rig, and happens everytime I change costume.

This bug is still around. The Roblox staff should at least try to fix this instead of focusing in rthro events.

I also believe to be fixed but this could simply be the website fault because of how old it is but Roblox is going to make like a desktop app like the mobile version because they would like to modernize the platform but yeah it happened here an there because of how old it is and/or your internet sometimes.

There already is a desktop app like the one in Mobile, I actually tested it a while ago (kinda) but went back to the website in less than 1 day because of how laggy it is. SharkBlox made a video on how to access it.

This bug is still persistent and is quite annoying. Not only is skin tone affected but also clothes and sometimes avatar proportion sizing.

Clothes too? This never happened to me so it’s probably a new bug. I wonder when Roblox Staff will try to fix all of these bugs.

I tested this again today and the issue seems to have been fixed.

The issue is less frequent, but body proportions and costumes with different rig types (R6/R15) still don’t change. Occasionally skin tones don’t change either.

I still have this problem too, does mobile fix this?

This happens to me as well, but a work around is to equip the avatar a second time.

2023, I am having this issue.

But it makes my skin tone change to the default roblox grey-ish + dark green torso.
With all my outfits, forcing me to manually select the previous skin tone.

Hello folks, thank you for reporting this issue. We were not able to reproduce this particular issue. Could you provide a consistent way to reproduce this? Preferably on a fresh account to help us investigate this issue further.

In my experience, there’s no consistency to when this issue occurs. Most of the time changing skin color works fine, but sometimes it just decides to not work, almost as if the server failed to recognize that skin color needed to change.

I can say that something I made with noblox.js for changing avatars sometimes fails with the error “Set body colors failed.” Weird thing is it starts working again when I restart the utility. Minus that, it works flawlessly.

I have had this issue happen from time to time. I have no idea why it happens, but it happens WAY more commonly on the app than on the website. One of my friends has had it never work on them on the app but fine on the website here I get mixed results on both the app and site

Almost every single time I switch outfits in the desktop avatar editor I have to spam click it like 20 times until my body colors finally update.

The same issue sometimes happens with scales, but it has a much lower failure rate.

I’ve encountered a new issue where I have to spam click an outfit in order to change it at all, I have no idea what’s going on anymore.

Hi! Closing this report since it was fixed in earlier improvements. Feel free to open new report if it is still broken for you. Thanks for reporting!
