Changing the center of a union

Hello.
I am building a gun turret for my battleship.

One small issue:
When I rotate the turret, the part gets off center.

How can I set the position of the center of the turret to

This little block’s position, so when I rotate the gun, the turret doesn’t get smacked off?
Thanks,
If you know how to do this, please help.
Have a great day!

I’d suggest turning the primary part to the little part.

Thanks, however, the Turret must be rotated, and it’s welded to the battleship, and Orientation must be changed to turn it, and this is a Union.
If I change the CFrame, the battleship will lurch.
Thanks though!

hmm turn it into a model then make a part in the center and then make that models primary part to that part

@ZINTICK Unfortunately, I can’t do that as the turret must rotate AND it is welded to the model so if I were to use CFrame to orient the turret, the whole ship would move too, and if I use the Orientation, the same problem. :sob:
Thanks for the help though!

have u ever tried hinge constraints I think they could work

Please explain.

Edit the pivot manually or through the properties, read about it here:

Pivot Tools.

EDIT:
I was stupid and set the pivot to the model not the actual Union. :sob:
For some reason, no matter how much I edit the Pivot, there is no difference whatsoever.

Help!!!

It isn’t rotating from the center of that point in your second picture?

Yes.
It makes no difference whatsoever when I edit the pivot.

How about if you just enter in the Pivot Offset Position manually at -10,0,0. Does it still not rotate around this pivot point? Can you maybe supply a video?

Sure!

Look at how i move the pivot point, then add a part, union it, and them move the pivot point of a union:

Trying it now.
Thanks!
Is it ok if I ping you if it doesn’t work?

Yes and if you want to share just the turret model(no need for script or value) i can try it out on my baseplate to see if it does the same thing as its doing on yours.

Works for me, like you see in video.
