Chaosity | Development Log #1

Hello fellow developers!

For the past 5 months, my friends and I have been hard at work on a game named Chaosity, an open-world action game involving many exciting features that we cannot wait to share!

The Developers working on this game include:
@Adimoneo - World Builder
@DeveloperPuma - 3D Modeler
@Lightning_Game27 - Programmer

We have always wanted to create a devlog showcasing our progress, and with great happiness, I present it to you!

Our game focuses on the idea of an open-world experience, with players being able to simulate parts of real-life as well as parts of fiction to have a really exciting and fun experience! In Chaosity, you can be a citizen, a criminal or a police.

Now, I know what you might be thinking. “Ugh, another copy of Jailbreak!” or “Ugh, another copy of Mad City!”

I am pleased to say, that is not the case! Our game might take some ideas from Mad City and Jailbreak that make it a great game, but once it is released, you will notice huge differences and an extreme amount of FUN and CHAOS! Yay!

Now, let’s actually get on with the devlog. Today, I want to show you 2 main things that we take huge pride on:

  • Our Vehicle physics system
  • Our Map

Vehicles

Our vehicle physics help drive through the map really smoothly! We have 4 cars as of now:

  • Camaro
  • Volt Model E
  • Volt Plasma
  • Hyperion Hurricane

Each vehicle has it’s own unique speed, acceleration, etc.

Here are 4 videos showcasing each vehicle’s physics system!

Map

Our map is one of the biggest, most beautiful maps on Roblox, considering that it can run on multiple devices! Here are some screenshots!

That’s about it for our first devlog! Thank you so much for reading and we hope you will support our game!

I usually don’t comment on things I have no experience in but I must say, those car physics look very responsive, something I find some games struggle with. Only thing is that you’re using the default roblox driving ui, you should move to your own imo since I find roblox’s looks a bit underwhelming. Other than that, it looks very nice. I like the lowpoly style when people can execute it well. You do this.

yea cantplay

You can clearly see that this is just a Jailbreak clone. The style of the map is exactly the same.

I agree with you. You could make it look unique under certains aspects but as of now it seems a bit like Jailbreak or Mad City. Try to improve by making the game look unique.

Is the reason you believe it looks like a Jailbreak clone only because of the map style? We are currently in the process of changing the builds! Thanks for the feedback!

Not only that, but the gameplay seems similar as well.

We plan to release further snippets of actual gameplay in the future. So far, we have only provided a small description which doesn’t fully inform you of the gameplay! Thanks for the feedback!

Quite a copy. But, copying isn’t a sin so I don’t see why people gets mad.
However, it’s a rip-off.
Instead of a generic cop-crim city, you can try:

  • More Vehicle based game, with vehicle combat, realistic ramming, insane road tracks (No generic gun PVP or bank robbing etc)
  • More of an organised city, a bit like Dawn of Aurora
  • Change theme into futuristic or ancient

If you just make a rip-off, you can suceed, but the question is, do you have millions of robux to invest in it?

The reason you think this is a rip-off is due to the pictures and pictures only. Fortunately, this isn’t just a cop-crim city. We just don’t want to reveal too much yet in the fear of copying of our ideas. We have some really fun ideas to bring to the game and we hope to show you guys soon.

@Adimoneo is focusing on making a better city, making it more memorable and different to Jailbreak’s and Mad City’s style. So, yes, it will be organised. We want to stick with the theme of modern since that is the style of all the assets in game.

We’ll probably show you guys one of our biggest features in the next development log! Thanks for the feedback!

The Driving UI will eventually be changed. We just added it since it shows the speed.

I can’t do anything but agree with @Megalodox_Official this seems quite a copy of Jailbreak or Mad-City as of now. Maybe in the future if you release more informations about the gameplay we could help you get a better feedback, but with the pictures and informations you provided now that’s all I can say. But for the positive aspect I can say that the images look pretty cool and good. Summary: give us more informations or this is gonna be misunderstood.

EDIT: I just looked at the driving video once again and I like the effects that you have when driving.

All I can think about is jailbreak

Thanks for the feedback everyone! Most of you are saying it looks like Jailbreak and Mad City, only due to the style of the builds. We assure you that they are being rebuilt, to make it look even more pleasing, so do not worry!

We will soon share more snippets of the game and maybe even a walkthrough of one of our robberies to show you how unique it is! Thanks again!

That’s some over self-confidence xD

Yes, but sadly it doesn’t work if you just spam more buildings. Innovation is quite different to remaking.
Example: Most border games are copies and remakes of The Grand Crossing
but- Dawn Of Aurora is an innovation.
If you think innovation is easy, here’s a clearer example.
Minecraft → Ark Survival = Innovation.

Well, you can try a more globalised and culture diversified modern map, for example being Tokyo, Brazil, Middle East, Mediterrian, Norway, New Zealand…

The problem is, I had made a game that was exactly like what you wanted, however, thoughts of bigger & better was just naive.

Good luck, but, you shouldn’t rely on this game to make you much, especially if you don’t even have a lot of resources.

Not to be rude but you sound like you’re just trying to drag the developers through the mud.

So what if they don’t want their ideas to be copied? It’s not ‘over self-confidence’, they’re just trying to protect their ideas from thieves, which mind you, happens way more than you think.

They didn’t say that they were going to spam more buildings- frankly, I don’t even know where you got that from.

It’s a bit rude to call the developers naive for just trying to create a game in the cop/crim genre while adding cool, new, and interesting features.

And to the developers of this game, rock on! That map, while looking similar to Mad City and Jailbreak, looks stunning and I’m impressed with the skills. I can’t thoroughly judge this anyways without more information- if you could post more about this game, I would be thrilled to play it!

Well to me it looks like another copy. The one vehicle video I watched didn’t astound me. The map looks nice, but it’s just another city in a landscape.
This doesn’t mean it’s a bad game, you guys can totally take the game in a direction that’s better than what’s been done before (I feel like Jailbreak’s gotten worse with its excess vehicles, new gun/bullet system, and unused escape routes). But just based off of this I’m not interested.
I’ll keep an eye out for your next dev log though.

It’s definitely quite astonishing hearing you to claim other as thieves while your game idea is just jailbreak. Read through the replies, it’s not just my opinion, it’s the majority. You asked the forum and here’s what we think.

No, you need a core. Cool new and interesting means absolutely nothing. Admit that you just took jailbreak and added some aspects, which still makes it a copy. Copying is legal, but we don’t like it.

If you want proof of our opinions

I’m not here to mock peoples work, and I cannot comment on anyone or anything’s future, but for now, it’s a copy. I suggest you finding a clear core soon
