Heya, folks!
Today, I made an animation with moon animator for the first time, well… At least, first time I tried to make anything serious. Anyway, here’s the animation, any feedback would be appreciated, thanks! Have an amazing day/night!
Edit: It isn’t low gravity, I just didn’t make it fast enough, sorry for confusing you!
It looks really nice! I have no complaints! But I have a question. It that supposed to be a low gravity animation?
it looks really… slow, like on the moon. Good animation, just increase the fps a little bit (unless its supposed to be low gravity)
Looks great, however, it looks like it holds too long, is it low gravity?
Very good animation smooth reflexes but heres my advice which might help when you are making animations apart from this one record yourself or searchh online of someone jumping
When you are jumping it takes long to go up (terminal velocity) but it then takes very quick to go down so apply that concept to the animation and its perfect
I get that most people here want to be supportive, but no one seems to actually critique your animation, I would personally like simply receiving a list on everything that can be improved, so uh, here you go!
Your animation has two main flaws that make it feel off. The first one has already been pointed out, the velocity and speed of the animation are off, making it look like it’s set in a low-gravity environment.
The second flaw is that it lacks anticipation. (When a character prepares for an action to make it appear more realistic and give the players a clue on what’s happening next.) Jump animations would usually include the character squatting down before pushing their body and legs up into a jump. Since yours lack this, it looks off.
Other than that, the right leg dangling in the low-gravity-setting makes it distracting, and the starting position (with the lack off anticipation) looks strange.
I hope you stay motivated to learn, if you continue to put time into it, you’ll improve and get better. I suggest you watch this video to help you understand animation better, even though it’s for 2D animation, the 12 animation principles are still valuable knowledge to have!
Honestly it is cool. I rate it a 6/10
Feedback
- Smoothen the move when the avatar goes down, looks a bit quirky.
- When Jumping, can it be a bit faster? Because looks a bit boring.
- At the middle of the animation, there is nothing wrong and it’s comfortable to look at.
Good luck and keep up with the good work!
