Im trying to make a wireframe or wireframe like mesh to go around the model below in a similar way to how I made one for these shapes below. Theres a lot of tutorials out there that its kind of overwhelming and im not sure if I would be looking in the right place. I made the wireframes for the shapes on blender but importing the character into blender and putting the wireframe modifier on it didnt give the desired results and I couldnt dissolve the edges in a manner that I wanted.
That’s probably because of the rig’s topology.
What does it look like in edit mode?
You will either have to fix up the topology yourself.
or just replace the body with cubes
(the wireframe modifier adds “wires” along the edges of the mesh.
heres what the actual model i want looks like in edit mode, im aware that wireframe might not be the best way to achieve the affect im looking for but it also cant be the only way? Is there a way i can create the outline by hand?
you can do it yeah.
Try duplicating the model (so you have a spare in case u mess something up) and just delete(dissolve) the middle faces.
Can you show me how everytime I do it i keep getting lines that go across diagonally on the each body part besides the head
also the middle faces wont delete sometimes
did you delete them or dissolve them?
(i know i said dissolve but maybe i was wrong_)
If you go into edit mode and click
this is near the top left of your screen you should be able to select just the edges
Thanks for the clarification, I was able to just dissolve some of the edges but not all of them, sometimes they just reaapear
yeah if they do that just delete them. actually, you don’t have to dissolve them just delete them, it should get rid of the faces as well.
