I thought it was fixed in Accurate Play Solo for a bit, but it seems like it just occurs and doesn’t occur based on the particular time at which I’m developing. Just had to stare at my window for 25 seconds for my character to spawn in with Accurate Play Solo.
This has now regressed even further: it now even happens sporadically when I press stop and press Play Solo almost right away, whereas earlier it would only take ages for my character to load once every couple of minutes.
The issue does not occur when a StarterCharacter is defined, even if that starter character contains character meshes and accoutrements. It will load instantly, 100% of the time, whereas it will not when your own player character is used. This indicates it is related to asset loading.
I’m still running into this issue regularly. Whenever I hit the play button through Studio, it can take up to 15 seconds to load my character and spawn. It seems that spawning in consecutive studio play sessions is as fast as you would expect, but the issue reoccurs seemingly randomly without restarting Studio.
i am unable to replicate this problem. the description suggests that this happens when assets are not cached, but there may be other issues. we are looking at better ways to get diagnostic information from users in a situation like this. I am writing a trouble shooting document. in a day or so i will share it. i would appreciate any feedback. the goal is to ultimately gather this information automatically, but until then, the document will reflect the question i usually ask.
im getting this now too, started doing it last month.
not sure, if its roblox side or mine, there are times its ok and others it takes 20-50 seconds to load in my player.
I’ve had this issue for a long time in studio. Pressing Play in studio to test something quickly can take anything between 0 to 10+ seconds to spawn just the character.
Any update on the feedback / trouble shooting document or other steps being taken to remove this issue?
Since Accurate Play Solo (APS) has been forced, I’ve continuously ran into this issue. More often than not Play Solo isn’t even a viable option to test any more, because publishing and playing the game online is faster.
I have this same performance problem. To load my roblox character in takes around 7 seconds, stalling the game until this happens. If I put a startercharacter in, it immediately lets me get into the game even though that startercharacter takes ~7 seconds to load itself. For debugging and testing it should always load as quickly as possible even if the assets aren’t 100% loaded.
At least there is a workaround for this by adding your own startercharacter but it shouldn’t have to come to that I don’t think.
Also I’m not sure why the characters are taking so long to load, a performance issue with the Roblox servers perhaps? The strange thing is when you run your game on the actual servers the characters that take 7 seconds to load in Studio only take less than a second. Something odd going on with that.
I also got this problem, I tried reinstalling Roblox studio, changing places, resetting all settings, turning on all beta settings and off, restart PC and still didn’t work. I’m on the new M1 Mac mini so the problem is not likely to be on my PC
My avatar loads too slow and sometime it gave error like error loading asset 403 warning
I wasn’t the only one with HTTP 403 warnings I see. I made a bug report about these warnings but they told me to contact Roblox support as they thought it’s an issue on my end. Apparently not.
I found the issue, it was the issue on my game. I just realized the problem was because I had too many assets/parts in the workspace. I was editing HD Admin Main module for my game and I forgot to move it to server storage, that’s why it takes so long to load when play solo in studio
This stopped happening for me a long time ago, @EmeraldSlash is it still happening for you? Thread should probably be locked otherwise so that new reports are made for new issues since this symptom is so generic
