Chat Hotkey doesn't force open In-Experience Chat anymore when closed, since Client CoreScript revision 10887

Description

image

If the chat is closed like it is shown in the image above. You are no longer able to “force open” it by pressing the chat hotkey, e.g. /. This is since Client CoreScript revision 10887. This means at revision 10886, this issue did not happen.

Re-production Steps

  • Make sure you’re on a game that has the new In-Experience Roblox Chat
  • At the top left make sure that the chat icon is not white, so make sure the chat is closed, and has the same icon like shown in the image above.
  • Once closed, try to press the Chat Hotkey / or -
  • Observe

Expected Result

When you press the chat hotkey, the chat should open.

Actual Result

When pressing the chat hotkey, the chat doesn’t open anymore at all when it was closed.

I have attached videos that explain this issue, and show Client CoreScript version 10887 and 10886.

Version 10886 was the version where this issue didn’t happen. And yes I tried to figure out since which revision this started to happen, meaning that I indeed re-opened Roblox a tons of times just to figure this out.

It is resolved, thanks! The chat now force opens again when forcefully closed.

This was a really fast revert! Was it a Fast Flag?

Yeah, the change was rolled out via fast flag and reverted via fast flag
