Sometimes when I go to send a message in game it inserts a “/” before I send a message!

Expected behavior
Go into a Roblox game and try to send a message and it may put a "/’ before your message.

This is happening to a friend of mine currently. May have to do with an update because I’ve had Roblox open for a few hours now and the bug isn’t happening to me
Edit: Their client did update when they got on tonight. Likely caused by an update.
Happening to me also WOULD LIKE TO MENTION suddenly really bad FPS stutters after the outage, was perfectly SMOOTH and fine on the 5th!
I just commented on another old post about this, please, fix this ASAP, it’s BEYOND annoying. Whenever I’m talking to my friends:
“/Hey wassup man?”
“/Dude what is that”
“/yoo”
“/BROOO”
“Why are you typing with a / at the beginning each message?”

Yes, seems to be a regression that caused this to come back. Previous report:

Can confirm this is happening, only in certain games it seems.
When this does happen, the Chat script also starts taking a LOT of CPU time, causing major frame drops. (checked micro profiler with cpu times of over 40ms and chat core script was one of the largest blocks)

Can confirm that this is happening to me as well, but with the “-” key instead.
Keyboard has been recently cleaned, so that shouldn’t be whats causing the issue.
Also as said, this was happening at the end of 2024 as well.

Not an engine bug but yes this is an application bug and really annoying
Best thing I could think of because It’s an issue within the CoreScripts that control the UI.
Same issue here. I am curious as to why only some people are having this issue, though.

They have been trying to change quite a few things recently to do with chat features so my guess is they have tried rolling out some system changes but this accidentally slipped in by mistake
