I am currently receiving between 10-15% on the game I am with.
I make a minute of song for each asset so should I be charging more? I am a pretty good composer and I am wondering if I am asking for to much or to little please help me out!
People underestimate how much a good sound design can influence a game, personally I would say they should go for a bit more than what @AmusingDev is offering, personally I think a good track should cost around 1k minimum. Upper prices really depend on your skill and demand, if alot of people would love to have you compose for them, you shouldn’t be scared of increasing your prices as long as it’s fairly reasonable.
You may correct me if I’m wrong. Using sound identifier, I pasted the music in and it it popped up with different results. I am skeptcial of the track’s originality and whether or not this was stolen.
I, personally, do not agree with most of the users’ opinion here.
Each set should be worth far more than 1000.
1000 Robux is around $3 USD (on DevEx)… Considering the amount of time that was probably put into each of the tracks. It should be worth at least 3000, which is $9. Even that is low too…
These tracks are very high-quality, and considering the amount of Robux the top game creators have, the charge is fair and even low. The top creators should be paying at least 5000 for each track.
Agree with me or not, it’s my opinion.
Good luck with the music I’m sure you will find the right buyer.
As a composer, I constantly asked myself how much to charge for commissions, and while I’m still VERY new I am now working on three or four at the moment. What I found is that average commissions for lower budget projects should be about 3k a piece, getting steadily increased the larger the studio budget.
That being said, that only applies to original pieces. I’ve also been asked to do remixes and arrangements of various other pieces of music, and for that the price varies greatly depending on the length of the piece in question.
Ultimately it’s up to you what you wish to charge. I would strongly recommend averaging out how much everyone is saying you should charge and work with it from there.
