Cinema 4D won't load in character?

Hi there!

I’m switching from blender to Cinema 4D. I first tried inserting a chararacter model (obj) using the merge function. The object appears at the objects panel. Although, it’s not in the viewport.

I tested in Blender, it works there. The character’s position = 0,0,0

Any help is welcome,

Thanks!

@Skilled_On since you model in Cinema 4D, do you think you could help him out?

This is not exactly relevant to the dev forum, so I suggest you asking somewhere else that may be able to help with this issue.

Well probably take it to the C4D website if they have a forum. That’s all I know as I use Blender personally when I do 3D rendering.

Try selecting the character from the object manager and press H on your keyboard.
Objects imported to C4D from Roblox Studio are very small so its kinda hard to find it just by looking around in the viewport.

Thanks a lot! I managed to get in inside. One more problem:

Is there a way to get it not blurry? Thanks! @Skilled_On

Select the materials from the Material Manager, go to “Basic” tab in the Attribute Manager and uncheck Transparency.

This is, cinema 4D is mentioned a lot of times, people use it for meshes on ROBLOX, it is relevant to the dev fourm.

Thank you!!! I inserted bones but now the character is gone again SERIOUS?? Selected only the character and pressed H, spammed it, dunked it, didn’t do anything…

Try importing the character again with a scale of 1 Meter instead of Centimeter

The solution @Skilled_On posted is a workaround. With his method you would have to do this for every texture, manually. It would also break transparent materials, like glass.
What the actual culprit is:

As you can see, the invert transparency option when importing the model is toggled on. If you toggle that off you should get normal transparency behaviour. (So the character’s material will be set to 0 transparency, etc.)

@marketmanager1 This is the proper way to do it and will save you time if you are going to import large files with a lot of materials, like maps, in the future.

I didn’t know that you can fix it by toggling off that option. Thanks for correcting my method!
